The Official CLASSIC Mini Thread

Hi All

First time posting on this thread. I was "given" a 1967 Mk 1 with Australian Spec doors late last year. The car was standing in a garage since 1994 and didn't move till Nov last year when I had her taken to a mini Workshop to have a shyte load of work done. She's running again now (although not licensed yet - that's a WHOLE other issue). But I'm looking to get her looking decent again. I'm after some rubbers for the door windows. The Mini Forum has suggested Mini Sport in Australia. I've contacted the owner there - but he's not responding (or he's busy). Either way - I need to get these rubbers sorted. Any ideas on local outfits that carry spares for these rare doors?

I'm also chasing a black carpet set. Sports Car center has them - but I'm after something on a beer budget. So any clues as to some good second-hand carpets that will fit a Mk1 would be appreciated.

Have a brilliant Tuesday all.

Haven't dealt with any of them yet, but that is the contact numbers I was able to collect so far.
Please post review if you use them or suggestion if you find any other places for parts.

Still looking for 2nd hand parts in cpt.
Need a window winder mechanism.

*thanks Spiderz

Call Tommy at Mini Workshop in the East Rand here in JNB. World of experience. Bit slow to respond to emails - but that's because he is the person doing most of the work on the cars. They have dozens and dozens of cars available for spares. And a heap of 2nd hand spares available too.

The guy I bought the mini from, got rubbers from somewhere... I'll ask him, and let you know.

OK, he says it's Pro Rubber. I think I have a business card at home. I'll have a look when I'm at home and post the details here.

Problem is... Mine is an "Australian spec". The doors are different to the SA version. They have an overly complicated rubber set-up.
