Thanks Colin. Am on that forum. Have just posted today regarding the same topic ;)

Are you on the whatsapp group? Can be quite a lot of chatter backward and forwards, but a lot of it useful.

I know people who still have minis in the backyard after years they give up on adjusting the SU's... Those things are a pain in the ass.

+1 on the SU. But there are some folk around that can tune them perfectly. Sad that these old classics aren't on the road because of a problem that easy (relative to your experience) to fix...

DM me their details if they amenable to selling. There's ALWAYS people looking for old minis.

And what difference did it make compared to the SU?

Honestly can't tell you yet. The car isn't licensed yet and so I've only driven about 10 km with it since ive had it repaired. As soon as i can get the licence sorted - will let you know. The Weber set me back R1.5K. That was through a friend of a friend though.

Hmmm, ok... let me know how it goes.

Hi All
track%20day2_zpso98psbpk.jpg

has a webber 36dcd carb & an electronic distributor. these were the best mods to compliment the powerful engine (rebuilt & rebored 1275 engine, DY2 cam, gasflowed head)! rubbers are 175/55r13 pirellis (miss my original potenza's i had on before) with 13x7" minilight rims....
it has been parked for a lil over a year, cracked my branches and havent really gotten around to fixing them....i miss it though!

and all my work is done by Dez's minis in elandspark (alberton), south of Joburg...

^ Ah, that looks nice

Come now, get off of your bumski and fix it man!

Just dropped mine off at Mini Workshop... hope she'll be okay :(

Hi All

First time posting on this thread. I was "given" a 1967 Mk 1 with Australian Spec doors late last year. The car was standing in a garage since 1994 and didn't move till Nov last year when I had her taken to a mini Workshop to have a shyte load of work done. She's running again now (although not licensed yet - that's a WHOLE other issue). But I'm looking to get her looking decent again. I'm after some rubbers for the door windows. The Mini Forum has suggested Mini Sport in Australia. I've contacted the owner there - but he's not responding (or he's busy). Either way - I need to get these rubbers sorted. Any ideas on local outfits that carry spares for these rare doors?

I'm also chasing a black carpet set. Sports Car center has them - but I'm after something on a beer budget. So any clues as to some good second-hand carpets that will fit a Mk1 would be appreciated.

Have a brilliant Tuesday all.

Try these guys for your rubber. Maybe they can custom something.
