The Official EPL 2010/11 Thread

Fanboi rant as usual...totally subjective. Both fouls were fairly called, but imo liverpool didn't deserve to score based on how well they were outplayed. It was the usual rush of blood to united's players head head that let them get the 2 goals they didn't deserve.
Not sure about the "usual" but I never disagreed with the fouls that were called for both goals (hence the the average joe comment)

There was clearly fouls from the Pool players that deserved y/cards not to mention clear penalty shouts
and the biased commentary was just nauseating
But all said and done i'm glad we kl@pped them and they sitting 16th where they belong:D

Big Match in Man City vs Chelsea today.
man C beat Chelsea home and away last season, lets Hope Chelsea do the same to ManC this time.

That Boyata boy was superb. Proper rough n tough defender. Hope he slips up a few times in the second half though. Not that it will make much difference, I haven't seen defensive play like this since Inter-Barca.

'Superb defending by City. It might not be pretty, but it was pretty effective. That said - the ref did favour City, though it goes in cycles (though this has been one long ass cycle imho) and hopefully the refereeing will go in our favour in Europe :D

Well done City.

1st real test for Chelsea and they fail it.
IMO the ref made the right call in the liverpool/sunderland game.

Tell you the truth, I think a loss like this is exactly what Chelsea needed to kick them in the buttocks. Something akin to the 5-0 thrashing Chelsea meted out to United in 00/01 (or thereabouts) and United went on a huge winning streak. Who do you think felt better at the end of the season? Chelsea for beating the the champions 5-0 or United fans for actually winning the league? A blip, that will kick Chelsea into gear. Good enough for me.

I also think the ref made the right call in the Liverpool game. Ball was stationery, whistle was blown for free kick to be take, ball was fair game.

Liverpool's peformance is just so frustrating. It's hard to be a Liverpool fan at the best of times, but nowadays it's just gut wrenching.

From the commentary team..

"Liverpool's terrible season is just getting worse"

"A dark cloud has settled over Anfield"

IMO the ref made the right call in the liverpool/sunderland game.

Ditto. Make silly mistakes at this level and you're gonna get punished, especially when a striker of Torres' cailbre is around.

Hmm... none of the big teams, save City, won a game this round. The bookies must be licking their lips.
