Went out at about 8:30 today, freezing in the shadows but once I was in the sun it was all good. Shorts and T-shirt.

It's amazing how I have just lost the will to run. It was easy when I had something to train for (Oceans, Comrades etc). Now that those and all other races have been cancelled, I just can't be arsed to get up and go for a run. I haven't been out since the middle of April and that doesn't look like changing soon. So to you all you who are making out there, I raise my hot chocolate to you (I ran out of booze ages ago!). Keep it up.
I run for the Vitality points, so I still have motivation. :) Also my monthly distance targets.

Warming up so mornings is still King.

Went for a run yesterday afternoon around 430. Was total schite

The air was filled with smoke. Battled to breathe properly. Eventually gave up at 8 k's

Will try again this afternoon unless there's smoke again in which case I will give it up as a lost cause

Also a schit-load of drunk drivers speeding around. Never ever seen that before. Thanks Ramapoephol and the collective! Bunch of arseholes!

Heard someone say Devils Peak is open. Seems unlikely so just checking if anyone knows? Newlands Forest etc still closed so not sure how DP would be open to the public for walking etc.

So any takers for the Comrades Virtual Run?

I'm in two minds about whether to stick to my usual 10k or attempt my first 20k

I think Ill do the 10k, but I really dont like paying R150 for a virtual run...

I dont care much for the medal, but I would like the shirt. A friend of mine got a 3D printable medal for one race, I thought thats pretty neat though.

I've shifted to running in the afternoons at about 4pm. Traffic is annoying but I'm enjoying the warmer temperatures.

Same here. Still trying to find a decent route where I can avoid both vehicles and dogs

Hmm... this has got me thinking maybe I can do the 21.1km in 1hour 50mins, will be one hell of a challenge for me and if I make it will be by seconds.

You're a braver man than I. I'm dreading that first run back (whenever that may be).
I've been doing 5k runs since level 4. But I'm about 7 mins slower than before. This is Comrades after all, so I'd like to do a bit more than the very minimum.

The back of my heel is giving me issues. Had stopped running for 3 weeks, went for a run yesterday and the pain is back. Do I need to see a professional now?
