Does anyone know of cheaper alternatives to Cablemod for PSU replacement cables?

I have PSU extender cables but it is way too cluttered in my case so wanting to swap the cables completely to free up space.

I have found Cablemod cables that work with my PSU on Amazon for R1700 shipped to SA (will ship to UK tho as I will be there in two weeks for R1300) so before I place order just wanted to check if there are other options.

Looking for black/red cables (or plain black) but they have to be replacement and not extenders or should I just go with Cablemod?

PSU is EVGA Supernova 850 G2.

Seller replied with some funny instruction to "use metal eraser to test the metal test points".

I replied that it might be best for us both if I just return the item, to which he agreed.

I will save up a little more and then buy something newer as suggested for any future gaming sessions.
Seller contacted me that I don't need to ship the item back, he will refund me... Decent end to the story then.

All's well that ends well, I guess.

I didn't mean to discourage you yesterday, I was just suggesting what I would do if I found myself in your shoes - the other alternative is if you don't mind second-hand parts, you could look on Carbonite to see if there are any combos to be had. I think a few of the chaps on there will probably be upgrading to Ryzen 3xxx so you may find some good deals on 1xxx and 2xxx Ryzen CPU's over there.

I've been struggling with convincing myself to pull the trigger and spend the money, I've just been fine tuning my needs/wants from a mobo but also didn't want to spend too much.
And i think I've found it, same kit but with the proper RAM.

If i look at the individual parts cost its does seem like a good deal.

I stay very close to evetech so i'm hoping should i have trouble i can resolve it in person.

I'll go to them and verify EVERYTHING before buying.

Rebeltech pricing -
Mobo - R2 679.00 (https://www.rebeltech.co.za/16981-asus-rog-strix-b450-f-gaming.html)
CPU - R3 549.00 (https://www.rebeltech.co.za/18834-amd-ryzen-5-3600-processor-6-cores-12-threads-42-ghz.html)
Memory - R1 658.00 (2 sticks) (https://www.rebeltech.co.za/18714-ballistix-bls8g4d32aesbk-sport-lt-8gb-ddr4-3200-cl16.html)
Total: R6 865.00

The benefit of that particular memory is that it overclocks really well - Micron E-die. Should hit the Ryzen 3600mhz sweet spot quite nicely at good timings.

That comes out at R7886 unfortunately. I like the Evetech R7100 deal. Will everything run ok if I buy additional fans at a later time. Upgrading to the 3200hz RAM stretches my budget a bit.

Also, thanks for all the advice!

Any comments on the build will be appreciated!!

In addition, can I reuse my current Corsair HX850 professional PSU (7 years old) for this build or is it better to get a new PSU?

Thx!!

Hi guys

I have settled on a new build, would just feel more comfortable if someone had a look over it. I am uncertain of the ram and psu. Unfortunately for now I need wifi hence the motherboard. 3600 and case I am 100% sure of.

I intend to use this with my RX580 for now until the 5700xt aib boards are available or my patience runs out and I settle for the blower. I have a 1440p/144 monitor (I know I wont max games on that but I am happy to play AAA games at around 60fps). Edit: will carry over ssd and hd from my old build as well.

Thanks in advance

My last build was 7 years ago and I would hope this one will last me as long, so all in all it would be worth the spend. Sometimes its okay to spend money on yourself before it all go to the wife and kids :)
Then within a few months you sell it because something has come up and you urgently need money.....
