If he goes for A320 I would suggest getting one with 4x DIMM slots like this https://www.wootware.co.za/asus-prime-a320m-a-amd-a320-am4-m-atx-desktop-motherboard.html

I did a budget build for my brother recently and picked the Asus board because it supported RAM speeds up to 3200Mhz...most A320 boards are capped at 2400/2667. It does only have 2 dimm slots but that's not going to be a problem for a long while if you go 16Gb from the start.

Going B450 avoids thinking about stuff like that which is kind of nice but I wouldn't buy a cheap B450 just to have a B450. The cheap ones are bad products (even if it wouldn't matter with an APU, we shouldn't buy them).

If someone finds a way to shoehorn a Tomahawk into the budget, that would be great.

Good build, if you want to future-proof your build, try go for this Mboard rather: https://www.wootware.co.za/gigabyte-x570-gaming-x-amd-am4-x570-atx-desktop-motherboard.html

If you have some extra budget left at the end of the day, try go for a 700 - 750Watt power supply. Just my 2 cents: https://www.wootware.co.za/super-fl...fully-modular-black-desktop-power-supply.html

Your total should come to about R1000 - R1500 extra

Hi, I'm struggling. I don't know what can be wrong. PLEASE I need your HELP.

I bought the following:
Asus Prime A320M-K AMD Ryzen A320 Socket AM4 Micro-ATX Desktop Motherboard
AMD RYZEN 3 3200G 4-CORE 6MB AM4 APU RADEON graphics & wraith stealth fan
G.Skill F4-2666C19S-8GVR Ripjaws V 8GB (1x8GB) DDR4-2666MHz CL19 1.2V Red Desktop Memory
Corsair VS450 Watt Power Supply - 80Plus White
A SSD and HDD

A cording to Wootware they did a BIOS update for the motherboard but now after I've build and plugged everything in there aren't a display on the screen but the CPU and case fans starts to spin and I feel the HDD running.

All I can think is that my RAM is not compatible or that Wootware did not do the BIOS update.

Any help will be appreciated!!!

Both power cables attached to your motherboard ? Should be two of them.

I've even tried a HDMI and VGA cables and I've removed the RAM and still no POST screen.

Yes both of them are attached.
OK Ram shouldn't be the problem. Try VGA, DVI or HDMI and see if any works. I'm not too familiar with that mobo, I have the gigabyte which works fine via my RX580 without any BIOS updates.

** edit I see you tried other connections.

Remove the CMOS battery for 5 mins and see :p a long shot ...

Thanks, fixed it this morning. For some kind of reason I took out the RAM and put it in the next slot and just like that it booted up and is working. Just need to install Windows and we're good to go.

Hi guys, first time poster here in this thread.
I found this on Carbonite and was wonder if this is a good deal or not, I was also thinking about whether or not if I do decide to go for it then I need to upgrade the RAM as those speeds are way too low for me and possibly the mobo as well? Any other help is welcome

Do you really want a 4core cpu in 2019? Then you mention upgrading the MB & RAM, by the time you're done it ain't gonna be R5k any more.

Looking for a pc case that can accommodate a hot swap bay at the front.

Seems most cases cant even take a cd drive anymore?

Used to have a zalman hd501 case.

I was also thinking about maybe getting a octa core CPU yeah. I see what you mean but I can a bit more coin to the final price as I'm planning to keep it for a year or two.
What's the absolute limit on the budget?
Absolute limit is R9000 as my 8 year old i7-3770 got stolen recently and my insurance is only paying out R5k for it.
