This issue between Nexon and Ironmace started a long time ago. The game was previously removed on Steam, too, and the matter then took nearly a year to be dismissed and have it restored on Steam. Then an appeals process started, during which time Ironmace listed the game on the Epic Games Store. It is the same thing all over again. It is a rights, IP, issue. Not unique to Epic Games Store, and they can't do anything about it. People who have bought shards via the game store will be unhappy, but Ironmace should own up here.
You can add the game on Steam.

Not only is Dark and Darkness an always-online game, it is also online-only. It is built that way. You don't need Steam or Epic to play the game. The launcher is downloadable on its own website.

An unforgiving hardcore fantasy FPS dungeon PvPvE adventure. Band together with your friends and use your courage, wits, and cunning to uncover mythical treasures, defeat gruesome monsters, while staying one step ahead of the other devious treasure-hunters.
For improved access and making transactions, the game is also available on Steam and Epic. For those who have played the game via Epic, and used Epic to purchase Redstone Shards you have until November 1st to use them. From my understanding, having purchased Legendary Status, it can be migrated by downloading your key in-game, or something like that.
All that happens here is that, due to a legal matter, the commercial agreement with Epic is void, or so to speak.
Not comparable to GOG. GOG can remove items according to their policies, but they will allow you reasonable time to download your installer, so you are responsible. Also, GOG tends to avoid having always-online titles, unless there is permission to allow third-party game instances.

My final comment on this. I know that people aren't playing it here because the developers moved the game to their own launcher. You have to initiate the migration or something like that, and it happened months ago. At least Epic is allowing refunds for those who have bought the Legendary Status. If you have bought it and you don't want to migrate, just refund it. If you want to play it, buy the Legendary Status from the Dark and Darker website.
It is obvious that most of the criticism is coming from non-players; otherwise, they would have known. But I guess that is the internet for you.
Anyhow, I am going to install the game from Epic and see if I can migrate. IIRC, they gave away Legendary Status, but apparently the devs of the game fiddled with that, too. Will see.

GOG is a special case. It's not the usual US type effort. The guys who started it have a different outlook and so the games are DRM free. That's unlike almost every other website out there. There are one or two smaller DRM free game providers out there as well but very niche and with small catalogs.
Cyberpunk 2077 is also rumoured to receive more free DLC missions and content as well. You will struggle to find a French, Canadian or US publisher with the same sort of value and respectful approach.

As he says this is an online game so not really GOG's forte. But my point GOG has never removed a game from the library and only from sale, even through it's in their Ts&Cs, so not sure if this is necessary or EPIC just following their own rules.
True. But again, GOG is different in that their games are all DRM free and once you download that game install file, it's yours to keep forever. Even if they remove it, they can't recall your copy, unlike Steam, or Epic or Origin, where if they remove the game, you're out of luck. It's not possible to download DRM free install files of Steam, Epic or Origin games.

I have completed the process now and it is a hassle, kinda. It is important to note that Epic users can't migrate to Steam. As seen here:

Then you need to run the game via Epic and receive a "Migration Code". You then have limited time (10 minutes) to close the game and then launch it via Blacksmith where you will be given the option to migrate. A new code may be requested. The steps are provided.
