Not really a giveaway, but if you own The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt on any platform which is connected to GOG Galaxy 2.0 you may claim it for free in the client DRM-free :thumbsup:

I wonder if this method of claims will be replacing GOG Connect?

Doesn't seem like the game is free. It seems like it's only the DLC.

I’m eligible for a free copy of The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt on GOG.COM, but I don’t see any information about it in GOG GALAXY 2.0. What should I do?

An update to the app is needed, so please make sure you have the latest version (Windows – 2.0.16.187, macOS – 2.0.16.200). If the update is not triggered automatically after launching the application, please wait a couple of minutes and a pop up should appear. If it doesn’t, you can go to www.gogalaxy.com and clicking the ‘DOWNLOAD GOG GALAXY’ banner will trigger the update without downloading the installer.

I have closed the banner with the option to claim The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt. Can I still take part in the event?

Go to The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt game view within your owned games library in GOG GALAXY 2.0. There you will see a banner that will allow you to take part in the event.

Which The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt releases are eligible for this action?

PlayStation, Xbox, Steam, Origin and Epic Games versions of:

That depends :) If you own The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt version of the game, you’ll receive the same version on GOG.COM (if you have The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt version of the game with any or all DLCs, you’ll also receive The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt).

If you have The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt GOTY Edition (or more than one version of the Witcher 3, out of which at least one is the GOTY Edition), you’ll receive the GOTY Edition on GOG.COM as well.

So wait. How does it know you have the game since you can add console games or does it verify the disk? Or is it only for the Playstation and Xbox online stores?

As long as the game is registered within your PlayStation Network library it should be picked up, these listed below are all community integrations, but Xbox Live is supported by GOG Galaxy 2.0.

Also, obviously, doesn't work with shared libraries. Shared items are picked up as subscriptions in GOG. I see some people tried that, others also tried to link a single integrated account to multiple GOG accounts to claim multiple copies :rolleyes:

After reading it carefully it seems you need to link an account. So those with standalone versions of games will be out of luck unfortunately, which is understandable. I'm wondering if this won't be open to abuse. If you can change accounts unlike with Connect people might borrow a friend's account to get the game.

Ok, thanks. I haven't used indiegala before.
I added it ro my library after registration, but when scrolling down I read something along the lines of "play the demo".
I'll check on my pc later.

It’s saying that about a different game on steam
