I thoroughly enjoyed Undying. One of my really memorable games.Honestly. I like retro things. I think it's cool.
My retro and the world's retro differ immensely though.
Platformers are cool before a smoke break.
True gems that are retro to me is Unreal Tournament, the first one.
Undying (scary as crap). Tomb Raider (even the new ones).
Why are all 2d platformers "made" or designed in these pixelated crap looking things?
I want visual appeal. I want to enjoy the gaming experience.
Sure thing. Kings Quest was the "it" in the day.
Not now anymore.

I'm not a fan. Irrespective of the actual name. It makes it seem dated and boring to me.It isn't retro, it is pixel art, and it is popular. Today's 'pixel art' games are a lot more complex than AGI and SCI. You will be surprised, many new pixel art assets are actually hand drawn.
There was a game I used to play in the 90s called Riot. It was an alternative sports game like soccer but you pass an orb around. Been looking for it but I can't seem to find it.

Edited.Clive Barkers Undying? Was excellent but not in the same time period as Carmageddon. Undying was mid to late 2000's where Carmageddon was mid to late 90's
Edited.
Not that I can remember. It was about scoring goals like soccer but it used an orb which was thrown around instead of a ball.Riot, tossing an orb around? Could you kill your opponents?

I can take you one notch as well:Yep, Realms of the Haunting was the first of its sort.
How is that for retro?

I can take you one notch as well:
When video based gaming was a reality:
Edit: The game contains video footage, like cinema footage. The game is made from this footage. I can't recall the other similar ones I played. I just know it was intense and realistic.![]()

Not completely the same, but similar is Toonstruck. I own the GOG copy.A very popular hybrid of interactive film and adventure game was Gabriel Knight 2, but interactive film is also coming back, various indie titles now based on that genre.

If you find some IF-A games that you think are worth it, please share.
I love the genre.
I see you found the correct acronym.Anyway, going OT, but here is a whole list of FMV games, current and old.
