Honestly. I like retro things. I think it's cool.
My retro and the world's retro differ immensely though.
Platformers are cool before a smoke break.
True gems that are retro to me is Unreal Tournament, the first one.
Undying (scary as crap). Tomb Raider (even the new ones).

Why are all 2d platformers "made" or designed in these pixelated crap looking things?
I want visual appeal. I want to enjoy the gaming experience.

Sure thing. Kings Quest was the "it" in the day.
Not now anymore.

I thoroughly enjoyed Undying. One of my really memorable games.

It isn't retro, it is pixel art, and it is popular. Today's 'pixel art' games are a lot more complex than AGI and SCI. You will be surprised, many new pixel art assets are actually hand drawn.

I also enjoyed it.
Carmagedon was a favourite in that time period as well. (around same time).

I'm not a fan. Irrespective of the actual name. It makes it seem dated and boring to me.

Clive Barkers Undying? Was excellent but not in the same time period as Carmageddon. Undying was mid to late 2000's where Carmageddon was mid to late 90's
 
There was a game I used to play in the 90s called Riot. It was an alternative sports game like soccer but you pass an orb around. Been looking for it but I can't seem to find it.

A very popular hybrid of interactive film and adventure game was Gabriel Knight 2, but interactive film is also coming back, various indie titles now based on that genre.

My favourite is Tex Murphy: Under a Killing Moon which made FMV an absolute pleasure to play. There were many FMV games...

Not completely the same, but similar is Toonstruck. I own the GOG copy.
If you find some IF-A games that you think are worth it, please share.
I love the genre.

Do you remember Space Ace and Dragon's Lair? They were more the keyboard/joystick busting interactive games.
