So I checked it out on Reddit where a dude did a fairly excellent breakdown of why their patches are so big. Too big to get into, but essentially:

If a file contains:
1) helmet
2) sword

And the new file for whatever reason has
1) sword
2) helmet

Then it’s a mismatch and needs to be redownloaded. But that reference is made across countless files, meaning they all get downloaded.

In one example, a 30kb change became a ~500mb patch.

I think they use the same developers as COD for their patches
