The RTX 4000 Thread

The niche for the 4080 is pretty small imo, I mean anyone spending that kind of money on a GPU is probably not going to worry about spending a bit extra to get the 4090 instead. Not really sure who the card is priced for.

LOl people paid the same prices for their 3080's last year and now they can get 9k for them secondhand

Still waiting for that MASSIVE gpu pricing drop everyone predicted. ohwaititdidnthappenasisaiditwouldnot.

Wait until the AMD RX 7900 XT / XTX drop, Jensen Huang will put on his cape and compromise on the early adopter price, but it will all depend on how well AMD really measures up. I still question AMD's "up to" marketing with their launch.

Will wait for the Radeon cards but for now it's looking like I will skip this gen..nothing that isn't insanely priced that justify's upgrading from a 3080.

Ignoring price, but this RTX 4080 Neptune seems very nice to have,

Greta Thunberg approved.

This is the complaint, it has nothing to do about the last couple of years.
MSRP at release
RTX 3090 $1,499
RTX 4090 $1,599
RTX 3080 $699
RTX 4080 $1,199

Hopefully you can see the issue at hand?

Yes, and what was the actual street price?

I know, but only a few hundred sold the first day for that $699. MSRP was never at $699 again, maybe now.
Thats not my point. The point is, people bought 2080ti, 3080's and now 4080's for close to 30k only to lose a huge amount of money to buy the next hype the next year.

Definitedly but just becareful its not a mined card your picking up. As lot of the people selling those cards either bought them from miners. Make sure to do the test and its nice if you can get one with a warranty.
