So what? Could be a lack of goal planning from them? I don't follow rugby but it happens a lot in football, new clubs who are promoted to the premier league will always say the first year's goal is not to be relegated, next season you aim for the top 8, and the season thereafter you aim for the top three to qualify for continental football, season after that you challenge for the top honours.

There's absolutely nothing odd about ASA looking at themselves and setting goals accordingly, short term and long term goals are a thing. Even the DA are now aiming to win Gauteng instead of the whole country, it doesn't mean they are not interested in toppling the ANC and winning all provinces, it simply means they have short term and long term goals.

It seems the battle will mostly centre around the Deputy President position and others like SG, etc. I doubt that anyone will substantially take down Rama as President.

But McPherson, is he bored? Seems the man just can't resist poking his nose into other party's affairs, Whether Cyril decided to include NDZ in her cabinet and she decides to stab him in the back is none of his business, if he cares so much about Cyril maybe he should join the ANC.

I doubt she and her supporters think she stands a chance against Cyril, they are just hoping for something to happen to Cyril and the fallout that could potentially happen in camp Cyril.

It's not unreasonable for him to do so.
  1. The ANC is the governing party, so naturally, other parties will keep an eye.
  2. The ANC has governed for decades, creating a space where the nation's eyes are glued to the ANC's factions and conferences (since who ever becomes ANC President and Deputy President becomes the country's according to history, 2024 might break that cycle) as if they are mini Rugby/Soccer World Cups or something.

I just hope, that whatever happens in 2024; the ANC don't somehow cling to power. Via coalition or not. Also, that should we have a new government, the coalition is stable enough to not cause pure chaos that next time round, people bring the ANC back in, because the "coalition experiment" failed.

The ANC will continue on even if the fall below 50%. No other party comes close so a coalition wouldn't be that workable for the opposition.

If they go below 50%; it leaves room for a coalition that does not include the ANC. So polls put the ANC at 45%. That would be game over, for them.

Also, if they're below 50% - they'd have to form a coalition to remain in power.
