So according to this press release, the wards being contested next week in the Western Cape is the uber-safe Ward 5 in the City of Cape Town (2nd pic) but I'll take a guess he's talking about Ward 05 in the Cederberg, although the DA still received 5 times more votes than the ramshackle PA in the Ward (1st pic)

Yup. They're probably going to do the same as in Prince Albert and unite under the ANC candidate.

The problem is where the CE vote is gonna go. If it'll swing ANC or DA (will probably be the deciding vote) or what.

Was wrong. PA is fielding their own candidate.

She's not backing down and not leaving the party like @TheChamp so wished she'd do, so he can put his smugness back on.

If she somehow manages to get the coalition back together, throw out ANC and keep on doing what she/they did before the ousting, I think she'll skyrocket into the DA high leadership like Zille did when she became CPT Mayor and WC Premier.

I get the impression her and the DA are throwing everything they have at this. If she's successful, then this whole saga might have been to the DA (and CoJ)'s benefit.

I still don't get how the DA is apparently right-wing. If they're right-wing, what the hell would the IFP and VF+ be then? Extremists?

The DA is definitely solidly centre-right in its current form. IFP and the VF+ is firmly right.

Also not sure why some DA supporters are against admitting that the party is currently right of centre. It was left of centre under Maimane.

That was 100% my guess as well, he's positioning himself to join ASA.

After MM was sacked, he also never re-worked his political image to support HZ or Steenhuisen. Politics can be dirty and the DA also likely made it very hard for him to work within the party. That is just how politics is and it happens when you back the wrong horse.

I have respect for him because he mentioned he has not been taking a salary while he has been reflecting. He does seem like a genuine guy who is in politics for the right reasons.

Oh? Explain.
IFP and the VF+ is firmly right.
That's what I said. If the DA is so "right-wing", and the IFP, and VF+ are to the right of the DA and considered right-wing, then they would be far-right extremists according to the logic of the DA being "right-wing".

From the perspective of an extreme left whinger, yes.
