It's definitely going to be a frenzy, I would already permanently deploy SIU, Hawks, NPA and SARS to KZN to stand by for the inevitable.
I would be going a step beyond that to be honest. Every single book and transaction related to this money must be public.

We need to go more transparent with public funds in this country to enable civil society more oversight.

Yeah I read his denial. He claims the tanker was in the area and others did get water but what he fails to mention is that tankers do not go to each individual house but park in proximity and residents fetch their water. That tanker is parked outside his house. I have also not heard or seen residents confirming they did receive water in his area.

ANC political elite come before the country.

DA and ASA should form an electoral alliance/coalition so to speak, as many parties in other countries do. They are quite similar, yet instead of uniting, they choose to eviscerate each other instead of the ANC (but then again the ANC are doing that themselves so...)

Lol, "Oh we won't do shady or corrupt shite this time. No no, that isn't my house in the background!"

It's really getting sadder by the minute.

You know it, "party before country".

After being in politics for 20 years and serving in all three spheres of government, Schäfer believes she has made valuable contributions.
"I am, however, now ready to bow out of public life. I am in the fortunate position to have been offered a job in the legal sector in the UK, which I have accepted. I will be joining some of my family there which presents a unique opportunity for us to experience together."
I remain committed to the Democratic Alliance, and have no intention of resigning my membership. I also remain of the view that the DA is the only hope to rescue South Africa from the current trajectory, and which can realise the immense potential that we have.

Seems like she'll remain a DA member but basically retired from active politics?

Durban just can't catch a break
It does not sound like a very smart thing to go and sabotage electricity infrastructure in full work uniform and work vehicles, it looks like another case of politicians doing what politicians do.

The movement needs those tenders bruv... lol

Still immensely ****ed tho
Yeah, it's a bad thing for people who already have enough trouble, but very irresponsible for the IFP to go around saying things that could sow unnecessary divisions.

Such things happen, City Power techs blew a newly installed transformer in Eldos, politicians should desist from I flaming situations for their narrow political gains.

It's that 2024 grindset...

KZN has now had riots, near-apocalyptic floods and now electrical sabotage, what's next for KZN?

ANC disciples were criticizing the amount for WC. Small change compared to this.

JOHANNESBURG - R3 billion has been spent irregularly in the 2020/21 City of Johannesburg's financial year.

This was made public by Johannesburg Mayor Mpho Phalatse during her maiden State of the City Address on Thursday.

She said the irregular expenditure meant there was a violation of policies and legal prescripts during the same period.

Expensive mistake. This was defended by some ANC politicians and senior military. The DA was criticized for querying it and accused playing politics at the time.

Will anyone be held to account, slim to no chance and if so some junior official will be forced to take the rap.

CAPE TOWN - Defence Minister Thandi Modise has admitted that the department made a mistake in buying a so-called COVID-19 vaccine from Cuba.
Modise briefed MPs on Thursday on the findings of a ministerial task team that investigated claims of fraud, corruption and misuse of state money.
Parliament's defence committee has lauded a military official, who's apparently since retired, who it said blew the whistle on the illegal importation of the treatment called heberon.
Modise told MPs that the findings of the task team's probe would be implemented.
The drug was imported without authorisation from the relevant local authorities, like regulator Sahpra, under the watch of former Defence Minister Nosiviwe Mapisa-Nqakula.
The debacle cost government millions.
The parliamentary committee also applauded the department's chief financial officer, Siphiwe Sokhela, who queried the procurement of the supposed vaccine.

That can be wholly attributed to the ANC and the DA Mayor is right to look down on that with scorn.

What would you say if I told you the other Metro next door that is governed by that absolutely incorruptible party from the Independent Republic racked up R2.7bn in irregular expenditure? hang your head in shame or fall over yourself looking for reasonable explanations?
