Hi marine
Is it not possible to send those tomtom files over Msn or something. the reason I ask is I am still living at home and don't have my car yet so it would be a problem for me to come pick up a disc from you with the files on it ?

For those who do not use the X1 for speedy internet
Disable 3g, it adds about 2-3 days to battery life....

heres how;
start>settings>Personal tab>phone>Band tab> change network type to Gsm and click ok

Then for those who want faster internet;
enable Hsdpa
First remove the MTN fix for disabling Hsdpa;
Start>settings>system tab>remove programs>Customization MTN_Disable_HSDPA>remove

Then Enable Hsdpa;
Start>settings>Connections tab>advanced network>HSDPA/HSUPA and set to Either Enable HSDPA only or HSDPA/HSUPA. HS"U"PA is for faster "U"pdoads. HS"D"PA is for faster "D"ownloads. this does not noticably decrease battery life..

enjoy

For anyone having trouble with X1 disc and XP

I spoke to my X1 support guy, he says its a problem with SP3, so uninstall that or wait for a fix

Also those who have Vista
The X1 is practically vistas best friend. you even get a little picture of the device under "my computer" and you can instantly access both the phone and the Msd card and it even tells you your battery life on the device!!!!!

for those who want to watch movies on the X1
Encode videos to either WMV or MP4
I use Any Video Converter- its free

For WMV use the following settings when encoding;
Framerate=25
video bitrate=384
video size=480x272 - the bond trailer on the phone is 480x260(to lazy to work out aspect ratio and dunno a simple way how)
leave all else set to default

for MP4
framerate=30
video bitrate=384
video size=320x240
leave all else set to default

I found the above setting have the best quality/size ratio

let me know what you guys think

enjoy:D

I think Hamachi will work or bitfarm, the file is too big for MSN. Did you download Hamachi?

You can also try this to get a "3G" button in Comm Manager

In Advanced Config, goto Menu->More Settings->Comm Manager
There you can select 6 buttons you want in the Comm Manager
