The Sony X1 Tips/Tricks/Apps thread

Shame man, Piesang we understand that you have to keep boasting about your N96 to make you feel a bit better. After all you are over your 7 days now with the N96 and can't change it for the more superior X1. At least you can still read the threads and see the absolute delight the X1 gives us! :-)

If the X1 proves itself to be a decent phone I'll get myself one at the end of March. Or maybe just wait for the N97.

I dont have to wait another 2 years like most of you guys. lmao

haha piesang is hinting at coming back to x1 !!!!! PRICELESS

purchased and installed Missing Sync which now syncs my x1 with a mac :) works a dream. syncs contacts, iphoto, ical, itunes

WIN WIN WIN

Piesang When the X1 is in sleep mode (pushing the power button briefly) it uses 3mAh with the phone function still on. so to work out how long it would last you do the following

1500mAh divided by 3mAh = 500hours
so thats roughtly 20 days !!!!and that with the phone function still on

According to Nokia Energy Profiler on the N96:

950mAh divided by 4mAh = 237.5hours
so thats roughtly 10 days.

If I get 10 days with the N96 in "sleep mode" I'll crap my pants. If you get 20, I'll crap in your pants.

Yes I am, only if it is better than the N96. But so far it is loosing the battle in my eyes.

I will NOT swop my N96 for a X1 if it is not improved.

In comparing the phones piesang to make your decision whether to come back over to the cool side... you have to let go what happened with your other x1's those were just bad luck i guess... (2 of them at least were bad luck, the other one you returned because of the volume of it... i stand to be corrected)

Otherwise we all now how this comparison is gonna end... ie. you are going to say that the n96 is better but it does not require the tweakability you require so the N97 looks like the best replacement for your E90 and because its nokia it is superior.

just my 2 cents:D

Well, I guess your "2 cents" are 100% correct. I must be out of my mind to think that the X1 will be improved. I'll just wait for the N97 as it is truly the logical choice.

i am willing to bet that the N97 is gonna have its issues just like any other phone on the market........ when it finally gets released later this year. And like all nokai fan boys, you guys will just pretend those issues never exist and you will just say how awesome your phone is :p

I do agree the x1 is not perfect (but show me a similar phone on the market like the X1 that is 100% perfect) AT THE MOMENT but it is almost there, with a rom update all the issues will be resolved and the X1 will be miles ahead of the N97!

As long as the Xperia runs Windows Mobile it will never be miles ahead of any Nokia.

I said this before and Ill say it again, my E90 and N96 never had a single problem since day one.

So i see the sledging has began again... lets face it the N96 is overrated!!

anyways lets back to things that the N96 cant do... have you guys seen these videos on youtube,

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6UjgJ2q07WU&feature=related

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_VG_5KF6Alw&feature=related

this is awesome.... it will be like having a psp in your phone:D

what pitty is that the x1 lacks the g-sensor which allows you to play games according the way you move, like the omnia, 5800..

another disadvantage is that there is no tv out cable...

Cut and paste
N96: No
Xperia X1: Yes!

Battery
N96: 220 mins talktime, 220 hours standby
Xperia X1: 360 mins talktime, 640 hours standby

N96: 2.8” TFT with up to 16 million colours, 240 x 320 pixels
Xperia X1: 3.0” 65k colour TFT, 800 x 480 pixels

u can defintely cut and paste on n96 using the softeware called X-plore, that allows u to cut/copy/paste/edit/ .

n96 is more a multimedia phone because of its s60 platform, while windows mobile is more business orientated...but to me s60 is much easier to use than wm..

screen protectors

what i'm buying
https://www.expansys.co.za/p.aspx?i=160887 - steroe bluetooth with 3.5mm jack
https://www.expansys.co.za/d.aspx?i=176191 - screen protector

that for X1 OEM parts

Tsponge when you get your screen protector you must give us a review on it, as i am very keen to get a screen protector wanna keep my amazing screen scratch free. There are so many you can buy so not sure which one to get. Dont think i am keen on getting a case for the phone.

Was curious to know, when they release the new winmob (think its winmob 8) are we able to update the windows on the x1 or do we remain with the current winmob. The X1 is a glorfied computer in your pocket so do not see why we couldnt upgrade the winmob.

probably a stupid question but someone has to ask them:D
