sorry for asking ,what is touchx :(

I have no clue how to install later versions of wmo6.1 can anybody assist and what are the benefits

to give you an idea of what touchx is have a look at the images on this link

then

touchx runs on your regular wm6.1 (there are versions of the new wm6.5 out there but its so beta and buggy i wouldnt go near it yet)
so, touchx (and other roms) run on wm6.1
but you need to HARDSPL your phone. which is basically buggering around with the bios/baseband type stuff, even deeper than an OS.
once you have "cracked" your phone with HARDspl you can then install any ROM to it, touchx being one of those ROMS.
my suggestion is to read thru the ROM stuff on the XDA forums here

:eek: No thanks i will stick to the standard winmo6.1 and beta version 3 of sbp which is working like a dream .i prefer not to mess up my phone ,and i dont know enough to be playing around with the phones bios and stuff :D

guru_pitka my thinking was exactly like yours was also very happy with spb3 but in a moment of madness i was touched by X now I am hooked. I dont think you will understand the diff till u take the plunge. Not that i am dissing SPB it is an excellent piece of software but it's like a BMW M3 and Ferrari, the M3 is fast but it's just not a Ferrari. And dont stress it is very easy just read before u hardspl and all should be fine
 
i dont know a single person who has broken or damaged their phone with this,, its purely everyone just being very carefull and try to cover their asssssses so that IF something were to go wrong then they dont sued
 
ok guys me again ,So ive done the hardspl ,how do i check if it worked ,they say that you must hold down your power and vol buttons at the same time but mine does nothing :(

please ignore my ignorance as i was pressing the vol button in the centre instead of down ,so now i can load touch x :0

hehehe, no probs guys, ive read enough about the touch x in the past n flashing my xperia should be no big deal, have done it tons of times before on previous fones...just wanted KVI's opinion on what he thinks is the best ROM out there for xperia and seems like its unanimous that touchX wins...or maybe il see what RCA3 comes up with and if that doesnt impress then il do touchX

where can i get touch x from besides xda as i cant access rapidshare accounts at work :(
 
hi guys i am about to get my X1, hopefully in a day or two.

I have 2 questions.

1. Is there a way to backup the default rom that comes with the phone?
2. Once you hardspl the phone, how easy will it be to revert the phone back to default if there is a need for warranty repair?

I have only seen one other person with one ? it was at the mall today
makes me feel special lol that it not an "everyone" phone
This kid at school today told me that his dad has one and I immediately thought I wonder if he on the forum?
so if anyone here has a son who goes to a school in fourways, I probably know your son lol

anyway, you all have a good week and I am glad to see new ppl getting X1's, enjoying them and slowly we spreading the "Xperiance"
 
yeah i've seen only 1 other person with an X1. we special :D
Nick - they probably only fixed a few things or improved it a little, other ROMs such as Touch X include the best parts of R3A and better other stuff too :D

Everyone on here seems to be using Touch X? I previously used Touch-IT v7 by itje, but then he released Touch-IT with WM6.5 and i must say it's pretty great. Haven't come across ANY bugs yet in WM6.5 and i dont think i'll leave touch-it :)

xyster.... i found the 6.5 from itje a bit dull. i think its really gonna be great once like HTC and others start bringing out different GUIs to run on it.
 
ok who knows how to remove the pesky .... "message sent" after you send an sms. takes so blasted long to dissapear off screen even if you hit dismiss. i saw somewhere it can be tweaked or disabled

KVI, here is a link i found, which is a program that can disable the "sms sent" notification. I know there are quite a few programs out there, even registry settings or tweaks, but right now this is all i can find. I havent personally used it yet though, so cannot give specific feedback on it. let me know how it works if u decide to use it:
