Anyone tried Touch-IT 6.5 ?
Also looks like Smaberg is not out for the count. I smell a 6.5 Rom coming our way from him sometime soon.

Anyone using stereo bluetooth headset? any recommendations?
 
Got Valkryie Firestorm 2 on the wife's X1... I found her a black one after lots of searching around, now need to sell her silver one!
 
Ok so me still running Touch X Ultimate still very happy, just a quick question is it possible to get the radio reception any better as i use the radio alot in doors and noticed at work i pick up no reception unless i end up near a window extra. Guess i am asking is it possible to upgrade just the Radio in Touch X. If it is possible can anyone tell me how its done.
 
maybe also ask on the touchX XDA forum. I dont hear of anyone else complaining so i doubt anyone is trying to fix it

isnt the touchIT still running wm6.2 ? (even tho they now reached a release number of 6.5, i think the 6.5 doesnt mean they running wm6.5)

in regards Smaberg, he did some excellent work, then just turned into a #*@#, his attitude went very strange, almost demanding money or else he not carrying on etc. Even if or when he does bring out a wm6.5 version he will be months behind the other wm6.5 versions. Firestorm is already almost entirely bug free, and it will only get better every week and every release. Its already faster than Smabergs release.

I think Smaberg might have become bitter after his X1 "died" and he sort of had an expectation that between his ROM users He would get a new X1, Could be wrong though cause I only read the last few pages on the TouchX thread. I just hope to see him back soon. you can never have to many good "chefs"
 
We got no electricity at work. So I been playing with my new X1. The battery gets a little warm with internet and GPS on. Helps keep my hands warm! :D
 
Ok, So I am running the valkyrie ROM and am not that inpressed. It is obvious that the "chef" is new at this and small things are bugging me like the close icon in the left corner is not centred and little pieces of infomation on where the ROM comes from are evident in menus like the default descpition is touch diamond2.

Also when setting up the ROM there are is no step to setup time/date, then when in the touch FLO side of things and you go to the settings tab and tap all settings you get taken to the connection settings options, and finally when in the main settings page under start -> settings - when you select any settng and press OK you get taken to the today screen instead of back yo the main settings page. E.g. go to Start -> settings -> connections -> wifi, and now press ok This can be very irritating when you are looking for a setting and not sure exactly where it was or just playing around in the settings menu.

Or maybe I'm just being a perfectionist.
On a lighter note, I am capped so was using my phoen for internet and here are results I got on Speedtest.net;

hey tsponge.... busy trying out all your "bugs" , cant say ive noticed any of them before until now....
 
Kvi - Like I said could be that I am just a perfectionist and they not really bugs, just things that are still being Ironed out. Do you Reckon the Touch FLO side of the rom is faster than it was on touch X? Aslo Wouldn't it be nice if you could switch between the different interfaces (6.5 and TF) using the panel system ? Would be better than changing in the today settings menu, Dont you think ? Maybe if enough people suggest it he can "cook" it in and make it nice and fast, because I remember there was a plugin that could make touch FLO a panel, but if I recall correctly it was a bit sluggish
 
geez you are a perfectionist ;)

i still think the touchflo side IS faster than touchX, to me graphics look sharper too, prob got something to do with graphics drivers and wm6.5
 
in a strange way i do enjoy the fact that its not perfect, it means next week there is a new one, and the following week another. the minor problems (which bug Tsponge hehe) arent bugs but just different build issues. the all settings problem for eg i rather access all settings via start button now.
There is one bug they are trying to sort, its an sms bug, if you send sms within the manilla enviro some people get "cant send sms" randomly. i find that if i reply to sms i rather go "all messages" then absalutely no failure.
but as i said earlier, the new version will fix that.... and probably break something else :)
but eish this wm6.5 is fast and pretty
 
3G/HSDPA Problems

Hi guys

Hope someone can help me with this

Got my X1 last week and updated the software immediately although it only updated to R2A and not R3A as I was hoping,looks like I still need to download that.

Problem is that first of all signal reception is very bad and although I live in Randburg I don`t get any HSDPA coverage. Also the phone does not want to connect using 3G and then reverts to Edge or GPRs (That`s if I get 3G coverage eventually!!!)

Can anyone tell me what to do???

I have enabled HSDPA and I there`s no applications blocking it.

Details are as follows

Vodacom SP
64K SIM

ROM version : 1.03.175.7
ROM Date : 12/12/08
Radio Version : 1.10.25.18

Help would be greatly appreciated
 
did you update with Sony Ericsson update service?

hey Jacques, im really not up to date in regards what the regular R2 and R3 can do for your phone, many of us here are using cooked ROMS which are a mix of the best of many diff firmwares etc. I remember a lot of people who complained about no or low reception problems were fine after going the cooked ROM route...
but geez there is no ways im going to recommend that route coz of warraty void issues. But when you decide to come over to the dark side we help you heheheh (evil laugh)
 
valkrye firestorm v2.2 looking good. fast as usual, no weirdness. had a weird restart on first boot but now fine.
