It depends on where you go.

Hourly rates differ all the time at different artists. You don't want to go somewhere just to save money, as it's going to be on you forever.

This is my progress so far. 10 hours at R900 an hour. A sleeve for R2 500 nowadays is going to be rushed. Slow and steady is always best with tattoos. Getting the finer details is important.

I'm keen to get alot more colour put into this, the light makes it look very flat, but it's still a bit flat.Happy with the bottom half but the top half needs more work

Colour is best on the old blanke skin. Doesn't show as well on the darker folk.

Full sleeve? R5k? Yeah that sounds about right... In prison.

Mine set me back close on R35k. Granted it's all solid colour, but you will not get a decent looking sleeve for less than R15k.

"A few years back", meaning the pricing has obviously changed, hence the 5-10k guesstimate. Most good places charge 800-1000 an hour when I last checked, most are willing to negotiate the price for a full sleeve. Obviously you'll get artists that charge alot more. 35k seems excessive?How many hours was it?
