The Tattoo Thread

So first part of a cover of an old tattoo from many years ago , still need to colour the bats and shade the clouds.

Also going to use the clouds as a blending method , so the design can be added to across or down either the back or arm.

Looks good Nan! I'm currently busy with a cover up blend that's going to take a bit of time :(

Went for my 3rd one friday.
Already got another idea that I want, it's really addictive once you start!

Just finished my half sleeve, 4 sessions and 22 hours later!
It is super addictive, deciding if I want to go full sleeve or move to the other arm!

Saw a guy sit for 6 hours of blackout on his upper arm, looked awful for the artist and him

So I am looking for some help, I have an idea for my next tattoo, half sleeve to give indication of size.
I need to visually depict certain attributes or traits, I have a few idea's but would love to get some more being bounced around.
so any idea's on how to somehow depict the following
1. Pride
2. insecurity
3. addiction

If you live in CT, I can recommend you to an amazing couple who will take those words and come up with something amazing.

They've done it for me twice....didn't even know what I wanted....sat me down, asked about my life and came up with the most amazing tattoo, which has so much meaning to me.

All the other places I went to just said "look on the internet and come back to us "

I dont, but i would be willing to travel or perhaps discuss remotely with them and pay for their time.
If I liked their tattoo work I would likely fly down for that as well, I do have an artist in mind currently, but they are not the most creative, they are amazing if given the tattoo or major concept, but not so much at conceptualizing.

I have a pretty good base idea but i am terrible at visualization and design, so need the help!

Keepsake tattoo studio in west beach.
Marcus and Janine.
You can find them on Facebook.
Good luck

Before you even get into the content and design of what you want, decide on the style of tattoo that you like/want based on what type of tattoos catch your eye.

Do you like traditional, realism, black and grey portrait, new school, tribal (spit) etc. Then start looking at artists that specialise in that style.

I cringe when I see people asking on FB for artist recommendations, and every man and his dog start posting up where they've had work done or recommending their friend that ordered a tattoo machine off eBay a couple of months ago and do "amazing work at a great price!". This is definitely not the way to go about looking for an artist. Sure it's fine if all you want is a little infinity sign on your wrist or your child's DOB, but for proper work and bigger pieces you need to narrow down the style you want and then find the right artist that will do the best job for that style.

I know the style, i have examples of the styles, i just need a way to visually illustrate those words as well as 2 others into the tattoo. About 90% of the tattoo is pretty much decided on, I am just struggling to think of ways to illustrate those words or meanings, I am hoping some idea's set something off in my head that i can run with

I am pretty happy with my artist choice, Ive had work there before and they are extremely reputable, if a little expensive

She's getting them removed though. She wanted them smaller

the sexyness factor is overflowing here, no really.

Curious to know how you would remove ink like that without scarring... that is a very sensitive area (overstating the obvious)
Did your friend end up going through with it?

Hi, looking for some suggestions pls - looking to do a fairly complicated half sleeve design, have sort of an idea in what direction I want to go. Can you recommend me a respectable artist in the Cpt area pls?
