The Witcher (Netflix) - 2019/2020

Missing a real Triss tbh.:crying:
Maybe in season 2 she would get better (incorrect casting), but she was playful and sassy and very f***able

WRT the Witcher Games, as far as i recall...
Witcher 1 was some kingdom politics and lots of racism and anti-human vibes. Ciri was a young 8yr old child here, destiny might have been mentioned. Order of the Rose.
Witcher 2 was massive kingdom politics, assassinations and wars, with the bigger story of the Nilfgaard invasion, and them orchestrating the wars. The idea being as they invade, they get the northern kingdoms to fight each other and weaken them for the final invasion. Mage and sorceress interference and meddling also included for themselves and for 3rd parties, and Nilfgaard solution to them.
Witcher 3 including Nilfgaard exerting more indirect influence on the northern kingdoms, the fall of kingdoms and lawlessness and unrest that it brings, and the main story of Ciri and Destiny, and multiple parties hunting her. And 1st reall interactions -the horse :) with Yennefer.

These games are based in books, so expect Season 2 of Witcher series to look into the politics and machinations of the sorceresses , assassins kingdom politics, and wars, and either Ciri training with Gerald or Ciri being chased and them on the run for much of the time.

WRT the Witcher Series links to the Games, as far as i recall...

Incorrect
Season 1 based on the first two books of short stories exclusively.
Season 2 will likely start off at the first Novel

more talking about the story narrative of the games, not specifically how series links directly to them W1,2 or 3)

The narrative of the games has no bearing on the series, as the games are narratives of their own separate from the books.
This has been mentioned several times by now.

Forget about the games.
They have no influence on the series.

The Witcher 1/10.

Low budget, no story line, bad acting, bad directing, bad producing. Not worth the effort.

Started with a bang, but when you reach episode 3
Damn.
Quite apparent the show runners have no clue what they are doing.
Triss? In the books she is described as cheerful, ready to burst into laughter at any moment.
In the series she is unattractive and boringly serious.

In this one episode they show 3 different timelines with no explanation or indication that it is 3 different timelines.
If you have no prior knowledge you would be lost without realising how lost you are.

Disappointing.

The action and visuals are great though.
That's all it has going for it at the moment.
I agree but then lets all be honest here this wasnt made for everyone but for fans of the Books/Fan's

When reading all the press and hype for the last year, they most certainly intended it for everyone.
They did not set out to create a niche serial.
I mean, 'the next game of thrones' has been thrown around quite generously.

Yeah, some of the episodes that I've watched so far are pulled straight out of the short stories. I also reckon they'll get into a novel in season 2.

Watched around 4 episodes so far and it's not bad, certainly no game of thrones but not boring either and no I didn't read the books nor play the games, first few moments of time travel I was like wtf isn't this one dead already but I quickly caught on so not too confusing if you're paying attention.

Triss is a minor character in the books. It is very doubtful that she will have a big impact in the series.

I've never heard of this series, which include the game/s and books. I like the story and am lucky that no expectations need to be satisfied.

Enjoyable series. Dude with white hair killing monsters for money and screwing hot chicks/witches. On episode 5 now and wish there was more than 3 ep left.

Definitely beats that other witches show I'm watching hands down - Runaways Season 3.
