The Zimbabwe Elections 2023 thread

Zim people are the ones who do most work in our complex, be it painting, domestic, gardening, electrician, plumbing. They in turn employ other nationalities of course. At times, quality is a problem (and punctuality) but I will find it very costly without this workforce. Quality is a problem regardless of who does the job.

I honestly don't want to go back to the over-inflated quotes that I used to receive before I started using Zim guys. Work was done by Zim guys anyways with those prices. I am sure everyone knows what I am talking
Whoever you get, chances are that you are going to end up with Zimbabweans doing the job while the Baas sits in the bakkie, so there's nothing wrong with directly employing the Zims, middlemen must fall.

I am sure it will be in the interest of the opposition to make up stories about the oppression they are getting as much as it will be in the interest of the government to frustrate the opposition parties. Take anything you read in the media with a pinch of salt, it could be the truth or made up, both sides will be looking to get a hand up they through propaganda.

After 5 opposition rallies were shut down by the Zimbabwean police earlier this month, the police literally had to issue an internal memo, instructing its members to refrain from obstructing the opposition.

You'd be very naive not to believe that elements within the courts, law enforcement and even the electoral commission have been captured and actively used to suppress the opposition and influence elections.

Just after I have told you not to believe anything you read in the media.

Zimbabwean police have been instructed to stop blocking opposition campaign rallies, according to a leaked internal memorandum.

Perhaps let me repeat myself,

I am sure it will be in the interest of the opposition to make up stories about the oppression they are getting as much as it will be in the interest of the government to frustrate the opposition parties.

It is open season for propaganda, and it won't be coming from one side.

Read the article.

In a statement on Monday, police later confirmed the leaked memo, saying it was meant for the police not for the public.

“The Zimbabwe Republic Police (ZRP) has taken note of an internal memorandum directed to police commanders from Commander 2023 harmonised elections which was leaked to the media. The ZRP advises the public and the media that the leaked memorandum was a communication guide which was meant for police commanders not for public or media consumption. We do not condone leakage of internal memoranda by unruly elements within the system. The ZRP is now conducting investigations with the view of identifying the culprit and finding the motive behind,” read the statement.

Why would you issue such a statement days after the opposition claims they were blocked from holding rallies? Why would you issue such a statement if you did not believe elements within the police would be inclined to work against a free and fair election?

Totally free and fair. Trust me bro, it will be different this time.

Let's hope by some miracle that Chamisa and co. can finally remove ZANU-PF.

What happened to MDC?
Zanu court ruled that a Zanu puppet, Douglas Mwonzora was the rightful leader of the opposition party MDC some months back. He took over all the party assets and HQ and kicked almost everyone out of the party, then a few days ago announced he was withdrawing from the elections. Job well done, on behalf of Zanu.

That is why the rest of the opposition is now contesting the elections as a new party CCC. Not much hope in hell for them with everything stacked against them.

That country, like many other African ones, operates on greed, bribery and corruption. Their people are last on the politicians minds. They would walk over a dying hungry Zimbabwean on their way to stealing money.

Damn, that is messed up. So it is quite impossible for Zanu to lose then?

Despite a sizeable population living outside the country, mostly in neighbouring South Africa, Zimbabwe does not allow its citizens to vote abroad.
Our Zim brothers and sisters need to get on buses and go home and vote. It is honestly the only way.
