There is no difference between cheap and expensive HDMI cables

to anyone interested, here is a guide to hdmi cables. they have more specs on each cables page.

http://www.kordz.com/hdmi-cable-guide/

i got hold of one of their cables, their specs give good details as well. works perfectly compared to the same specification cheap cables.

im not saying theyre all like this, but it does seem to more general than not. confirmed by others too..

HDMI will travel happily through normal Ethernet cable.. just don't tell them that.
HDMI uses LVDS.. so cable "quality" is not a factor.
Snake oil salesmen are gonna peddle snake oil..

Where can you get them in SA? I need a spare 18Gbps cable. Have tried 2 I bought and neither could achieve 4K HDR

Thanks for this guide, very informative, it has everything in one place. It can be used with other makes too, saved fo my use.

I was very disappointed of our editors quoting idiots who were testing digital cable with colorimeter. .LOL.
In the second link it makes conceptually more sense, but it failed the same, as they didn't approach data rate limits. Data rate is pushed to the limits only when transmitting specific content (see table). At this moment substandard cables fail, while at lower data rates it may appear identical.

In the other side, HDMI cables have inherited legacy of HiFi analog offerings. Cheaper is not always substandard.

Try the below with at least 5 different brands:
10M
20M
50M

Each test(1080 and 4K).
1. Circular fold the cables.
2. Long distance
3. Near other cables

You will see a big difference.

I just have to watch Peppa Pig 657 times a day, and Baby Shark doo do do dooo 4000 times. I don’t care anymore about HDMI cable quality, flex, distance etc
