If you are on an Uncapped account you should have been auto-upgraded and this should have been free.

Unless you aren't on contract?

For something expensive I'd worry about that - consoles, cellphones, TVs, cars etc. Not for something that costs around a grand.

I still have a 7 year old WDTV Live that's still working fine, so warranty on a cheap device is overrated...

yes still on contract. I meant if I can add the device for R49/m to my current bill.

What autoupgrade are talking about?

Was in the same boat and in the end Iv just gone ahead and ordered the MiBox locally here in SA today , I should hopefully receive it tomorrow already . The pushing point for me was just how bad Telkom's service was on the box when I was making enquiries on Facebook and in store .

Yip , I got tired of the Telkom round about and the fact that you can't even phone the store to enquire about stock . When I went into the store the first 2 people I spoke to did not even have a clue what I was asking for , they in fact thought I was wanting a Router and contract .
 
Think the one on Cyberange is the 16GB version. The one on TVme is the 8GB version.
 
I'm also slowly but surely getting over this LIT device.

I prefer a Octa Core, 3GB Ram, 16GB Rom media player/Android TV.

I've been using a Quad Core, 2GB/8GB media player for a year now and it's rapidly getting outdated.

IMO, you need the Shield Android TV :D , that thing is a monster :love: . Amazon ships the device our way fyi.

First choice is Telkom LIT_ Box/ Mi Box and 2nd choice if money allows is the Nvidia one. :p

A bit of a overkill on the Cpu side, minimum should be quad core, 2GB Ram and 8GB ROM, you mostly going to stream and browse the net(Occasionally).

If you play intense games through the box and block others from watching tv then your specs requirements is justified
 
On my current Media Player I'm unable to use DSTV Now and Showmax. Both apps install and load, but when I want to open 'n stream, then it just shows the "Load" animation. Nothing happens after that.

I can get the LIT device tomorrow morning. But I really don't want to go and buy it tomorrow if I still can't use it for DSTV Now and Showmax. Then I can just as well keep my existing media player until the LIT device is sorted out.

Anyone else that has the LIT Device that can confirm that DSTV Now and Showmax are working or not?
