This PC good for gaming?

I still have a Pentuim D 3.4 GHz in on of my PC's. Do you guys think that I could reach 4GHz with it:p? I'm using an ordinary Intel MB.:( What do you think dangerous temps. would be?

I dont think Intel Mobo's have options for overclocking :( as for Pentium D I am not to sure how well it would OC'

yea that pentium 4 d should go to 4ghz and further if you had a decent mobo

but its old technology so a stock e8400 will still kick its 4ghz ass :) and a 4ghz e8400 will stomp on it spit on it kick it in the gut and then smash its face in :)

Just go to your BIOS and see if there is any option for overclocking available (or read your manual's BIOS section). Apparantly if you want to OC E21XX you need to mod your CPU? I do not use this one so can not confirm.

NO you don't have to mod it.

OC'ing them is so easy it's not even funny!
Just up the FSB and at higher clocks a little more Vcore juice, that's all, ..maybe if your NB likes higher voltages when OC'ing, like my board in sig.

What I saw from overseas forum suggested for E21XX you need to mod the CPU to enable 333 and higher FSB?

What about NO don't you understand!? ;)

Dude, ..uuum I have an E2180 OC'd from 2.0 to 3.0GHz, and it's a pretty average OC for this chip, ..unfortunately I did have to add 0.075v, ..and the NB on my board likes a little bit more juice too.
I don't know what else to tell you, whatever you read is bollocks and they don't know what they're talking about.

No review I ever read (and I read many before I got this chip) said anything about modding, and they took the E2160/80 to 3.2 - 3.4 - 3.6GHz.
