I've definitely used it for more than 10% of my credit limit but after every week, I transfer the cash from my cheque account. Should I rather pay it off once at the end of the month?
Why don't you just have an auto-payment scheduled for payday?

I will be in Lagos next week and was wondering what is the best way to approach converting some money to Naira and are there any ebucks rules I should take into account by using my CC over there? Maybe best to not use the CC over there and just use cash...

Thoughts?

When I've travelled to Lagos, I've just used my FNB Visa credit card. It was accepted at all placed I tried to use it. It did sometimes decline when they used a "local card" speedpoint, but then they just got another speedpoint machine and then the transaction went through. You'd earn ebucks at twice your normal rate which, if you're on RL5, makes up for the "buy rate" and FNB 2.75% commission.

I'd also take some small denomination USD notes for gratuities or small items. USD are accepted everywhere. I've used FNB forex delivery with no impact to my Reward Level.

Does anybody know if there any implications for depositing cash into ones account at an ATM?

Just pay with Credit Card as stated above, I also withdrew cash from ATM's using my CC. Just make sure to let the bank know when you will be there and that you will have a sufficient daily limit set on your CC.

So i never knew this but you can withdraw cash@till from the Checkers money market counter. Did it today but it seemed a bit risky since everyone can see what amount you are withdrawing nevermind easy to spy on your pin code.

I think this was asked before ...

I cancelled an order and Takealot refunded it to my credit card several days later. Does the original purchase still count to your monthly spend?

Iirc the answer was yes?

I just have to say that I've just spent my first eBucks ever on a R5000 Makro voucher and it's largely thanks to this thread and all of you guys showing me the way.

I didn't think my Jewjitsu would ever reach such levels of literally getting R5000 for free.

Now just another R3000 voucher, hopefully by December and dishwasher here I come.

How long did it take you to build up enough to buy the voucher?
I am only on 279 in one month. :crying:

Good for you.

Honestly, I never thought I would reach lev5 without this tread either. Rewards are awesome
