Ensure that your current debit (straight) balance is is never more than 75% of your total straight limit. e.g. If limit is R10,000 on straight, then keep your balance under R7,500. If need be, pay in early to bring your balance down. This is from the old rules, but what does it really mean?
"Using your monthly straight credit balance effectively"
Are you referring to a cheque card deduction or credit card?If you set it up as a monthly card deduction instead of a debit order you'll earn the ebucks.
Well closing my saving pocket so long, its going to be of no use in the future.
Also adding a small investment account to get those points...just to be sure I will be on level 5 still come November.
Jumping hoops...
I've done this since the beginning, really do not like debit orders...you have no control over the payments, so only where it is absolutely necessary I have debit orders.
Jumping hoops too. Which investment account is anyone opening to qualify?
Remind me please, is this putting in 15k in line with Platinum Reward rules, or was it 50k?I am eying the restart fixed deposit. Its barely better than the rest interest wise, but none the less better. And I only have to worry about it again in 13 months.

EFT payments isnt considered as 'payments' not from when I last checked with them. So it wont be counted. Only actual swipes or actual payments through an online vendor using your cc/cheque.
I bought builders warehouse, makro, Kalahari and Edgar's vouchers. R5000 rand worth of them, so the 30000 Ebucks I had leftover from all the crap i bought thatI didn't really need is now finished. I suggest all Level 5s do the same before the new rules become active
Am not too confident at this point, so will probably make level 4. I hate direct debits and shy away from any debt including credit card transactions. I like my cheque card and wish they gave better options for using that insteadThat's only really needed if you know you won't make level 5 with the new rules. I am very confident I will, so not really concerned about that.
Yip, fortunately for me with the new rules I don't have to change any behaviour other than avoiding ATMs like someone with Ebola. As things stand I will have 21,000 points based on Platinum rules. Looking forward to free uncapped ADSL, from November I assume.
