I was going to say that Chad, Wayde and Akine Simbine were serious medal prospects but I said the same thing about the 7's team, so....
I was so excited to watch the Olympics thinking we will get some decent results with the 7s but wow what a piss poor show from them I'm so disappointed.

Not everything lol. Our swimmers and track and fielders are pretty consistent and there's at least a new olympic record.

I wouldn't be at all suprised if an air of complacency crept in. They were leading 7 - 0 after scoring a try and then the red card. Foot off the gas + encountering some Latin passion and fire and it was too late.

He DNF'ed in the diamond league two or three weeks ago. Don't think it was serious, but he did wan't to hurt himself/make the injury worse (pulled muscle or something).
Just the team sports.

It's our biggest Olympic team ever but it's not going particularly well right now.
Swimming, rugby, rowing, triathlon...
SA can still win a medal or 2 maybe in swimming though but otherwise I guess we'll have to wait for track and field
