TomTom defends map data systems following Apple Maps glitches

Or maybe. . . one was submitted before iOS6?

It's amazing how many completely different things can be read into a simple statement if one tries hard enough. :D

If that was the case, why did humble Apple (pie) not accommodate an older version then if no new version was submitted after iOS6? :D

Google Inc. has not submitted a new Google Maps application to Apple Inc after the iPhone maker dropped the use of it in launching its newest device, the head of the world’s top search engine provider said on Tuesday.

“We have not done anything yet,” Google Executive Chairman Eric Schmidt told a small group of reporters during a visit to Tokyo.

“We’ve been talking with (Apple) for a long time. We talk to them every day,” he added.

If that was the case, why did humble Apple (pie) not accommodate an older version then if no new version was submitted after iOS6? :D
Because they're not supposed to use something they no longer license, maybe?

Then why would Google submit one if no license was concluded? :D

Older versions are still available on older iOSs for now.
Because Apple designed the original app and licensed the data from google - google's own app would be of their own design and submission to the app store?

All the Apple peeps following Apple's shiny new maps will probably drive into some :p.

Meh. People won't care.
There will be much teeth gnashing as there was when Flash wasn't supported. The reality was that people didn't care much.
This will be the same.

And lets not forget that Apple Maps is better than Google Maps in certain areas. It all depends on where you come from
