I can confirm that On Digital Media's (ODM) TopTV is working feverishly behind the scenes to add a whole new Indian bouquet to the pay TV platform in November.

Reliable sources tell me the Indian bouquet will not form a part of the new channels - between 5 and 10 - that TopTV is planning to roll out in October. I scooped the news RIGHT HERE that ASTV will be one of those channels added in October to TopTV which has not been confirmed by TopTV but that I can absolutely guarantee will happen.

Meanwhile speculation is rife, with channels such as CBS Reality and 4Music now mentioned. At this specific moment its just conjecture. It could be, it also couldn't be. TopTV will never confirm it before they make an official announcement but my sources (and I have the best sources, believe me) don't know anything about it. That's not to say its a ''no'', I just haven't heard of any more channels yet.

I just hope for their sake its not CBS Reality, ASTV and 4 music because they are all K*K. They will definitly be loosing hordes of people. If I want to watch reality I watch Discovery etc. not Jerry springer, Idols or cr*p like that.

Smart move on the Indian bouquet.

A reality channel ... seriously! Or am I the only person who hates that channel on MC?
 
I just want a decent movie channel - with movies that were released this millenium .......

Oh and maybe some sports - watching hurling on Sentana makes me feel like hurling.

Hmm...not actually a reality channel we know per se. Got this off Wikipedia: "On 14 September 2009, it was revealed that the international arm of CBS, CBS Studios International, struck a joint venture deal with Chellomedia to launch six CBS-branded channels in the UK during 2009. The new channels would replace Zone Romantica, Zone Thriller, Zone Horror and Zone Reality, plus timeshift services Zone Horror +1 and Zone Reality +1.On 1 October 2009, it was announced that CBS Reality, CBS Reality +1, CBS Drama and CBS Action would launch on 16 November 2009 replacing Zone Reality, Zone Reality +1, Zone Romantica and Zone Thriller. On 5 April 2010, Zone Horror and Zone Horror +1 were rebranded as Horror Channel and Horror Channel +1, following the rebrand of the portfolio’s other three channels in November 2009."

I had a look at the CBS Reality website, it's not all that bad with shows like Ghost Hunters, Haunted, Secrets of Street Magicians, etc.
So, maybe there's hope for us Sci-Fi starved if TopTV gets all the brands....who knows.

Only problem there is what feed will we get ... probably stuff with all the reject program nobody watches ... possibly in 6 years time we can have Gohst Hunters series 1 ;)
 
Reality shows suck IMO. What about CBS action or Horror? There is more than enough reality shows on TTV.

ROFL - well, I personally haven't seen GH season 1, so it will all be 'brand-spanking new' to me :D
 
So ASTV has been added already to verity bouquet. So when is the next addition of otehr channels. I was expecting all of them at the same time. Dont know why added ASTV alone.

They said they will be spreading it out between October to November.
 
Suddenly it's gone all quiet...perhaps the silence before the storm? Surely by now someone somewhere should have picked up what channels will be coming to a small screen near us? Or are the people that work for TopTv silenced by a confidentiality clause in their contracts :D
Come on..it's just two days to go...give us a hint! ;)
 
Yip I am wondering as well.

I also have not seen a "future channel" like on DSTV.

Don't even know where ASTV will be or how many new channels.
 
I was hoping for a sneak peek on the Lyngsat site, but unfortunately there is no additional info or channels listed as yet. I'm not sure how this site is updated. :(
 
You guys think toptv might have squandered that R1bn 'war chest' on trying to get new subscribers by giving away the decoders instead of new content?
 
I hope they add at least 2 or 3 premium channels, cause R250 for old programs are not worth it. I'm currently running both TTV and DSTV select (for series channel) which comes to R400. If TTV keeps on with this ripoff I might as well go back to DSTV premium. Who else feels the same as me?
