What are your guys opinions on this compare diablo 3, honestly now, also ignoring all the connection issues D3 had and just purely on D3 gameplay vs D3 gameplay.

I got bored of D3 pretty quick and then the connection issues pissed me off so i didn't play again.

D3 felt like they just rushed you through the game to get you to inferno so you can start grinding for that ever so scarce loot. Which wouldn't have been that bad but by the time i finished the first 2 difficulties i was having a hard time staying interested in the game. Hats of to the guys that played multiple toons to lvl 60.

What i like in Torchlight 2 compared to D3 is that they have lots of small things along the way to keep you interested and lots more opportunity to find good loot. I'm playing Elite and in act 2 right now, i was having trouble with magic damage killing me too fast so i rerolled the world and cleared it from start, at the end of the day i picked up 2 very nice resist all pieces which sorted my problem for the most part.

Some of the small things.

Phase beast (Small challenge maps that rewards you with a large chest or various small ones if you succeed.)
Gold Chests (Free loot if you can find the key to it)
Mysterious Robot parts (Dunno what it does yet but their found in dungeons in secret areas.)
NPC's (No boring grind fest to unlock their services, once you find them their fully available)
Items are much more interest with multiple improvements paths (Gems, Enchantment, Augmented, Set bonuses)

I play a Outlander and i'm 32 now if anybody wants to play coop add me on steam. My nick is ODTech.

Still enjoying it... Level 39 Engineer, trickling like molasses towards level 42, where I unlock my (hopefully) awesome main offensive skill I've been saving up points for...

It's a bit hard at the moment, due to not building up the earlier skills, in favour of keeping the points for the more powerful ones.

Level 38 outlander... taking a lunch break :)

Doing the same as you, saving points for a skill I am getting @ 42.

Ah cannot express how well they have done this game, they fix all those little annoying things in diablo, they just make it so you can just get on with the game, there's no like wasting time, also I like the fact you level quickly, maybe people won't like that but I dunno sometimes levelling just starts to feel like such a chore, where as now its like you constantly levelling and able to have skills to upgrade the whole time, and not spending like an hour for a level type of thing so all you can get is 2% increase in your critic rating etc.

Wait till you realize you're build is not optimum and you'll have to do everything from level one again, then the "chore feeling" will kick in:p

Gah, I dont know... I'm still 50/50 on this. I think the potion spam is the one thing I dislike the most
And I'm dreading that moment where I realise that I've distributed my stats wrong. Skills arent an issue at least, but looks like I'll only have 2 active skills. Anyone else playing a melee char? Does the "swing and miss" (when mobs run away, and you swing, but they kept running so you miss) get any better later on with more move speed/attack speed/something else?

Well there will most probably be a mod to reset your skills like last time, so far the 3 undo's worked great for me (Open skill try it return if it sucks). So I would not worry about this.

As for creatures melee missing, avoid knockback on weapons and go for damage over time for the runners. Poison and fire comes in handy here as they die while running...

Love the game, so much more fun that D3 for me, but the Beer + Co Op makes any game fun, esp when you have friends and hang in VoIP while you killing mobs. Also co-op is great for loot sharing, cause for some reason my Outlander keeps on getting Engineer Elites drops and our tank looves me.

Oh if you want to read about each class before you "roll" your main check out: PC Gamers Class guide

How many hours did you put into D3?

About a month or 2's worth.... and I know torchlight might not last as long, but I can tell you it was a hell of a lot more fun to play this weekend than D3 was on the 1st week.

D3 farming feels like work, where TL2's endgame is not out of reach for a casual player.

Look I'm not hating on TL2, if you take into account the small dev team and budget, its a pretty good game, I rerolled a beserker and liking the game a bit more now, but can't see myself putting in 300hours + combined between all chars, D3 IMO is a much more polished game (even with all its faults)... Talking about TL2 end game, what is it exactly? PvP? Uniques seems to be very easy to find, so I doubt their wil be a gear grind

And that is why it appeals to me. I am done with the grind. 7 years of WOW doing raids with top 10 US guilds and farming mats just is not my idea of fun anymore. I want to play something then move on to the next one. So yes different strokes.... and it was well worth the $60 I paid (Bought a 4 pack) does not matter how you spin it.

So end game = I finished the game, I enjoyed it, now where is that Borderlands 2 icon....
