Also really enjoying the game so far....lost of fun. Forgot how cool this hack & slash games are being a mmorpg player. I might even consider getting d3 later on.... but this got me hooked for now, then theirs borderlands 2 as well, which is awesome, which one to playyyyy!! :D

Downloaded the demo and making my way through Act I at the moment. I think the graphics are a bit simple and lack a bit of detail in places, but the environmental effects have really been thought about well. More than anything though, this game feels like fun to play! Some of the skills are awesome and the music is excellent. Amazing job for a 'smaller' house to put out there. Will be purchasing the full game.

I really don't see the point in pirating this game and I hope alot of people will contribute towards their efforts I mean its 20$ something like a 170 rand, and when you start playing it, it genuinely feels like a 400 or 500 rand game, I just hope they get a good turnover because I think we can expect good things from them if they have a good financial backing.

I'll answer you directly from the developers:

I love it that you guys do an AMA.
Something I've always wanted to know is why you guys sell your game for 20 bucks instead of 60 what seems to be the accepted norm now.
Also, how come you guys seem not to be afraid of piracy? (no drm?)

–runicgames
We sell for $20 because we want a bigger community, and for people all over the world to enjoy our game. Not everyone has $60 lying around. Plus, digital distribution, like on Steam, makes this more economically viable for a company like us. We couldn't make money selling $20 boxes only, but we'll do fine with this price because of the trend towards digital distribution.

With respect to piracy, a small company like ours isn't going to solve it. And the last thing we think is appropriate is to punish our honest customers for something other people are doing. We believe that if we put out a quality game at a fair price, there will be less incentive to pirate the game, and that those who do pirate it may decide to buy it down the road. That's our approach and we're sticking to it!

Source Reddit AMA with Runic Games

To add to that:
A lot of people that do pirate do so cause they can not afford it. Think School children/Students or Low income and a lot of them funny enough buy the full game when they can for example Steam holiday specials (I know a lot of people that pirated the 1st one, but bought legal copies on specials like the humble bundle mentioned above)

I am going to go ahead and buy three legitimate copies of this game, because I think Runic are going to go on and do great things in the future.
If most of these guys are from the original Blizzard team, then I can't wait to see what else they come out with! :D

I for one can say I do pirate every now and then and I am honest about it, but I tend to do it because I know its a game I would never but and sometimes I feel a game is so crap they don't deserve my money, yes I pirated the 1st one, but purely because I had no idea what it was hence why I bought the 2ND one, if I feel I have enjoyed the game and feel the company is deserving of my money I will go and buy the original, purely cause I feel guilty cause I enjoyed the game and I didn't pay for it, but if the game was a load of crap I don't feel the need to go and purchase it, I probably sound like I'm contradicting myself but its how I see it, and like the post above says, people pirate because they can't afford it, I'm sure many would buy the originals if they could, but fortunately for some of us it is a luxury, I mean 400 rand or whatever doesn't seem like alot of money to me now, but I mean 5 years ago it was a crapload to splash out on a game Web I had no money, so I think it was a good move from runic games, very risky though I think, am very interested in what there turnover has been, id like to join in on the Reddit conversation if they have another one.

Ok ya Hellgate was a bit of a flop:/ I think they tried going for something original and just realise that maybe the only way to make a good arpg is to stick to the diablo formula.

I wish they could bring this game to the nintendo 3ds

I bought a 3DS 3 days ago, because i missed those super mario games etc. so opened up the box, switched it, looked at it for 5 minutes, put it all back nice and neatly in the box, took it back to where I bought it and got my money, what a load of effing sh** that thing was, the resolution and screen size is a joke.

Agree the resolution pisses me off. They have the XL now for size but us early adopters get screwed again.
Its a stupid situation, the 3DS has good games and more good ones coming but crappy specs and screen. The vita has everything i long for without the games.

Me, most definitely.

Being a HUGE Diablo 2 fan, I was basically frothing at the mouth when standing in a long line at the midnight launch of Diablo 3...

I don't think I've ever been more disappointed in my entire life... So I went searching for aRPG's looking for a true successor to D2; not that WoWified, Pay2Win, Error 37, Always Online (see error 37) abysmal excuse from a team of shareholder-feet-lickers... er... I mean developers.

So I've also pre-ordered TL2. I never played the first one but I have hopes seeing as the dev team consists mainly of the dev team that made D2 one of the best things to grace a PC, I have hopes for it.

Also going to have a look at Path of Exile. Looks equally promising and it's F2P.

Inventory looks almost exactly like D2
