Toyota 86

The GT86 has been on my radar for a while. If I ever have to replace my 10 year old 350z, this would be it, from the current crop of used cars.

The first time you turn in on an apex and floor a MX-5 you know you've lived. I suspect the 86 might be the same with less compromises like back seats and a roof. I'm patiently waiting... my time in nigh!!!

For those who don't know you won't find an apex on a dyno or drag strip or the mall parking lot.

My 2004 NB 2.5 MX-5 has been at a worshop now for just over two weeks. Waiting for a clutch kit to arrive from the USA today.
Miss the bloody hell out of it

Won Carbuyers Best Sportscar

http://youtu.be/LzHX0hlUO7k

They rated the TT is a better sportscar than the M4, 911 and Cayman. And they have the Peugeot RCZ ranked higher than the M4 and F-type. There's no MX-5 in the list at all :O

Carbuyer's review are best when they focus on important issues like does it have cup holders and space for your bottle on the side.

What is patrol?

I believe they are pretty lightweight on juice but the automatic is rubbish.

Haven’t driven on though.

Around 12km/l. Not bad. Maintenance is about what you'd expect. Cheaper than the turbo on a Golf GTI but the oil and whatnot can be expensive.
An extended warranty is worth it. When things go wrong you're looking at imports from Japan. Local parts seem to be rare.

Found these keep some value surprisingly well.
Not golf pricing but not as bad as I expected

Didn't they initially sell for 300k back then new?

*edit* The High AT was around 335k if I'm not mistaken.

And what exactly is wrong with a Subaru engine? As for boxer gearbox, WTF are you on about?

The handling is designed to have low grip and slide around so it's fun... You know f-all about this car apparently.

Couple of years late to the party here but that oke was on a lot of drugs

I bought one recently and I'm in love with mine. It's a great looking car and draws a lot of attention. I drove to Hermanus over the weekend and averaged around 7.1l/100km. The tank is small though so it will feel like you are using a lot. If you are planning on buying one get the High. The interior is much nicer compared to the standard. One thing I didn't notice at first is how great the seats are.

The car is not slow but it could defiantly use more power. It doesn't bother me at all since I can go 0-100 in under 4 on my bike.

I think these cars are fairly reliable. The small issue I have is when shifting from 1st to 2nd in the morning when the car is still cold. I have to shift from 1st to neutral then to 2nd. This seems to be a common problem with the transmission. Once its warmed up its fine.
