Looking good so far (beta 2). I'm starting to hate unity a bit less, as a long time mint user. Looks like it's going to be a good release.
 
I'm also running it.
It did however break my wireless.... it loses the connection constantly :(
 
Hmmmm. I'm running it in Virtualbox. Hope i'm not in for any nasty surprises when I install for real.
 
looking forward to this, but I'll wait for the final release- April and October are always marked in my calender. Backup everything and format/reinstall.
 
No problem with networking but some issues with Unity display. I also get an error message after each login. But I'm still impressed.

Must say that I dumped Ubuntu 10mths ago as Unity sucked, but now Unity is much better and I rather like it.
 
Running nicely here, on my old Dell Latitude D630. Upgraded from 10.10 was painless as well.
 
I'm still on 10.10, when you upgraded did you have to update each version sequenceially or could you jump straight to 12.04?

Also had the an error right after login (might have been gnome session manager). Seems to have been sorted with a recent update.

Best solution for distro hopping I found is to create a separate partition and mount it as /home on new installs without format.
That way I keep all my data intact and can "upgrade" from almost everything using a clean install method.

As for Unity, Will have to wait and see, lucky you can always apt-get install cinnamon if it does not work out.

Anyone running multi monitor on 12.04, heard grumblings about issues with Unity and this setup.
 
My missus's PC (Kubuntu) has been updated/upgraded through versions from 7.04 (no reformat/reinstall). I skipped one version and it wouldn't let me upgrade from the CD, so I forced it to upgrade with

apt-get dist-upgrade

with no problems and without having to install the missing upgrade first. Be brave, get your hands dirty :)

Tried this tonight:

Both need to run the same res and on my laptop with normal VGA out I need to run at 800x600 (max 1600x600). I read this was an ATI driver issue and if I upgrade to proprietary drivers then the issue should be resolved. Will try it once 12.04 gets out of Beta.

That said, I must say that I love how easy they have made it to activate this feature.
 
Thanks for the feedback, I tried running it in Virtual box today and didn't want to chuck the monitors out the window immediately, Unity is getting better!
 
Every time a new Ubuntu release is about to come out I get all excited only to be disappointed by it and return to Fedora. Maybe this time ;)
