iBurst call centre message

iBurst call centre message (Thursday 14:20) states that they are aware of the problem and are working on it.

Yeah, its definitely not solved in PTA - damn slow, about 50% of sites are dead to them, although according to their speed test i'm 670Kb

I initially thought one of our servers went down thanks to them so for once i'm thankful that it was iburst's problem - 1 of 50 000 odd (thats about what their customer base is right? since we seem to be more of an inconvenience than anything else)

Im in Centurion and still have the same issues.

Start Time: 15:14:49
End time: 15:15:44
Download Size: 409600 bytes
Time Delta: 54.631371021271 seconds
Download Speed: 7 KBytes/s
Line Speed: 56 kbits/s

And this morning at 7AM

Start Time: 07:10:13
End time: 07:10:21
Download Size: 409600 bytes
Time Delta: 7.8538279533386 seconds
Download Speed: 51 KBytes/s
Line Speed: 408 kbits/s

Download Speed: 7 KBytes/s

That is quite impressive!! :P Try 3 KBytes/s - TRYING to download off HTTP server (rapidshare). Feels like the 90's .........

Ok, all the techs are in a meeting after I referred them here. The guy I spoke to wanted everyone here's numbers so he could contact them regarding this. I'm waiting for him to call me back at the moment (he seems to be the only tech that cares about getting this resolved). If you guys want, pvt me your cell numbers and I'll pass it on.

The thing is, there is nothing wrong with anything except that they don't have enough capacity, IMHO. (seems to be a problem in SA atm)

In the mornings everything is fine, speeds are ok. BUT as soon as we get to peak traffic times the connection slows down to a crawl.

That leaves only one conclusion, the peering links don't have enough capacity for the amount of traffic during peak hours. (maybe is costing to much to upgrade with IS)

Anyway, ADSL here I come.

Everything back to normal

All back to normal here in Sandton.

Maybe iBurst is jumping on the bandwagon and doing "bandwidth shedding"

:)

I'm not fine. My GMAIL isn't loading at all...

I get this:

Loading…
This seems to be taking longer than usual.

If you are using a slow Internet connection, you can wait a bit longer for this page to finish loading, or just use basic HTML view for now.

If you are using your normal Internet connection and you usually get past this loading step without any problems, please refresh this page in your browser. If you continue to have trouble loading your account, please visit the help center for troubleshooting information.

facebook still very slow, Google taking ages to search. Can't view my mail from Gmail. Can't log onto Investec's website, Wikipedia........... AARRRGGGHH :mad::mad:

I have given up on my Iburst, and am moving on to better things, ADSL

Start Time: 16:48:00
End time: 16:48:01
Download Size: 409600 bytes
Time Delta: 0.98853206634521 seconds
Download Speed: 405 KBytes/s
Line Speed: 3240 kbits/s

Now this is broadband!!!!!

Can they even advertise Iburst as broadband with those speeds?

I was thinking I'm crazy, but it seems I'm not the only one.

My google home page does not even want to load!

*sigh*

and again its mostly proxy errors:

Read Error

The requested URL could not be retrieved

if they cant run proper cache then turn it off!

I put the dns servers they gave me, back on my router.

Sites that weren't working, like google.co.za, works again. I suggest people try that because the Helpdesk doesn't give a rats ass about anyone's issues. They always have a different excuse.

DNS
Primary : 196.30.31.193
Secondary : 196.46.70.1
