It is for the setup and insurance of the router, it is normally R 1500, but we have reduced this for this special.

why would you need to give me a router

i already have a router?

so if you have a router then the setup fee doesnt apply or what?

Think you need to use a specific router that makes some form of VPN connection to give you the 5 static IPs.

With static IP addresses, you need to use the router as it creates a MPLS vpn in order to get the IP addresses, if you look around R 1350 ex is the cheapest in the market ex vat. Find someone cheaper and I will match the price for you.

what's a replay server?

fax 2 email numbers are free for anyone - webfax.co.za

is the connection speed-limited? i.e. is this a 512K or 1024K connection?

is this the express "uncapped" shyte from IS where they ... um ... lets say restrict your usage?

why do the ads on hellkom say "ODS Uncapped ADSL R876.00, Uncapped Unshaped ADSL with P2P allowed" yet when you visit the link the cheapest option is the express rubbish for R1,200 ?

are users given full control over that router you provide?

It is a good price for the IS uncapped 512 connection. Masticore - I have one of these and do over 70Gb a month, and no whining from IS.

It is one of the main reasons I am going with an uncapped account.

At the moment I do around 27GB per month on 128K ISDN. I can't imagine what I will do with uncapped 512K ADSL. The only constraint will be HDD space....

...time to get another big drive....I wonder if a 750GB will do...hehe

:L:

IS Accounts

I have two IS uncapped lines both at 1024KB/s.

One is based on the satelitte international which goes down occationally and the other on their fiber that runs through the SAT-3 cable which have no such issues, although you do pay a premium for that.

Both lines average 50GB+ plus per month with no hassles.

@lantic has that for the same price (R 1539.00 incl).:D The setup is for the router, which is preconfigured (Cisco) and the 5 IP's.

I've got one of the fibre-linked 512K accounts, had it since May / June last year @ R1500pm (3yr contract tho)

Got clever and got four other companies to share the costs with us, and when they pack up for the day we start leaching... average is ~60GB / month... and all this for ~R500/month

Not a bad deal in the end (by ZA standards)
