Do you think Telkom is wrong in not launching uncapped ADSL products?

Who really cares what Geldbom says or thinks?

I just want this horrible company to die a slow & painful death.

No No No. Telkom is funding carriages 2,3,4 and 8 of the gravy train. There will be no change until the train stops to be reconfigured.

Misguided? Telkom? That's too nice a word to use for that pathetic company.

Of course only 3 percent of their customers consume more than their cap, everybody who wants more has already left the network. Lies damn lies and statistics

They only recently increased the 5GB accounts to 9GB. They should check how many people are now using more than 5GB. I doubt it would be 3%. Probably at least 80% exceed the old 5GB.

Wow, that sentence messed with my head. Can't read it without getting a headache.

Actually, I would tend to agree with them (but probably not based on their logic). Uncapped shouldn't be their main focus, large caps (say 50/100/200 gig caps) with faster connection speeds is ACTUALLY what I think the market needs.

9Gb are enough for me now because at the affordable, pathetic speed of 384k I often don't bother to look at something. We need higher speed, higher cap accounts at an affordable price. Uncapped maybe, but that should not be subsidized through the other accounts.

If they don't want to launch uncapped, then they should launch offerings with larger caps.

People will consume more than 9Gb.

Otherwise somebody will steal Telkom's clients when they're not looking, or not expecting it, and then they'll be unable to react quickly enough.

People out there are tightening their belts, and cutting down on expenses. This means high-priced items will be the first to go, especially if it can be replaced with a lower-cost equivalent...

That is like saying our employees never exceed the 5k salary we give them each month therefore no increases this year.

Rufi, rather focus on the quality of your network. I tried to use video streaming for MIX11 late last night and even on my Business contract I was trottled to death - that's pathetic, I don't have uncapped, willing to pay a premium for my bandwith with MWebBusinnes but get the same *****ty quality - not funny. You also need to sort out your peering arrangements, I don't want to route to London to access a local service on IS.

Dr. Brian Armstrong... is this guy seriously a doctor? Being a sangoma throwing bones, does not count. The reason only 3% reach their cap is because the other 97% is subscribed else where. duh. You dont need to be farking doctor to figure that out. oh yes, he cant. What an A$$.

I think the only people on the 9gig package are people who don't know much about the interweb and other better ISPs
