Unexpected Pregnancy

I'm not trolling at all.

If she is not ready for the baby it is her body. Having a child is a massive decision that can completely stuff up her life and her plans. If she is in 'varsity it is her future that gets f'ed up - not the dad's who doesn't even live in the same province.

She is carrying all the risks, pain and disadvantage here. It is her body. The decision is 100% hers and hers alone.

I'm actually with Celine on this one - it is a woman's body and she has the right to terminate it if she likes. She can ask the father for input, if she wants, but ultimately, the decision is hers to make.

However, on the flip side, I feel that if the father wants the woman to get an abortion, she should have no right to demand maintenance.

100% agree.

Wow. What about the man? It doesn't stuff up his plans? :wtf:

If my gf who I was in a serious relationship with aborted my child without consulting me, I'd abort her!

Why does it not surprise me that someone who is against a woman being respoinsible for her body also believes in abusing women.

Aborting a child is a last resort if the child is unwanted or unable to be supported, if the mother can equally terminate the child's life, why can she not give it to a willing father?

If she doesn't want to carry a child to term no matter the circumstances she should be more careful about opening her legs. if this was a guy who knocked up a woman, would we be sympathetic towards him?

No. It just inconveniences him.

A friend of mine was ready to go for an abortion, but at the last minute she couldn't through with it (was very emotional). The fact that her boyfriend didn't support the abortion also contributed to her stress.

Guess who was chucked out of her parents house?

Abortion is a BIG deal, and NOT an easy thing to do. But I do think the decision belongs with the girl alone.

Wow. Just wow.

As you were.

Why not just state exactly how a baby inconveniences a man as much as it does a woman instead of throwing your hands up in the air? I'm genuinely curious.

I mean, a woman's life has to literally be on hold for a few months due to being prego. You can't beat that in terms of "inconvenience".

You ignored the part where she needed the "dad" in order to conceive the baby. Simply by that association, any decision related to the baby is no longer the woman's alone.

If I give you an idea for a website but you need to do all the work, are you going to like it if I tell you how to do the website? No, you are going to do what you want with it.

Same with a child - the man may have been involved, but the woman's body carries the child. It is hers to decide what to do with.

You're being a bit harsh here, Looney probably meant "abort her" as in get rid of her, i.e. end the relationship with her.

The bigger question here should rather be who the hell in this day and age still has unprotected sex and there by gets "accidentally" pregnant.

There is no such thing as accidentally pregnant, only stupid pregnant.

As per the thread title, Unexpected, is Unplanned

Having a child is something that is planned properly and mutually, if not, then its best not to have one.

Respect her choice, its her life , her future, her career, her body, and if per the OP she is going through a rough time personally then a having a child would certainly not be in her best interests.

That is utter rubbish. The child belongs to BOTH parents, not only the one who happens to have the duty of carrying them.

What is amazing, is that this sort of viewpoint has no consideration for the actual child being carried- only the effect that it will have on the woman's body.

Can't argue with this one.
