University Protests 2016

Ok let me get this right?

The White students have stacks of stones in their rooms marked "In-case of emergency"?

Really? LOL! :D

Alleged witness accounts like these are only rattling the incitement cage. Nowhere did I read that the incident at the rugby spilled over to the university buildings…

I stumbled onto that article when going through the Twitter wars… it is ugly on social media.

The whole incident at the rugby event… rug teen die muur wat kan ‘n man dan nou doen. Do nothing and the protesters take precedence, do something (pending on how the matter is approached) and you are likely to burn a bridge. The protesters got the response they sought, they even brought weapons along to tickle at the opposition.

Though this is one incident involving rugby (which in many ways are culture-bound in sunny SA), where the game continued, there will be implications and consequences.

That video - do they actually pay these security guards ?

What can they do when outnumber, the only thing that they could do is seek aid (requesting additional security and/or police assistance). You cannot risk to protect when all the odds are against you, I’m sure their protocol (or policy) was to request backup.

I read (from an unreliable source though) that shots were fired at one res.

After the rugby incident, black students raided the hostels last night. Police had trouble getting the situation under control, and even asked the surrounding neighbourhood watches to assist.

Today, black students again became violent and broke down statues on campus. They the proceeded to gain entrance to the ladies' hostels and blocked the girls from leaving. The police again had to call on the surrounding neighbourhood watches to assist with evacuating these students (happening right this moment).

In Pretoria they got the snot klapped out of them and it's died down since.
Sometimes a show of force seems to be the only thing that works... I'll be honest and admit I have no idea what the UFS thing was about, but it looks like their focus is now back on #Rhodesmustfall?

And this here is half the problem....

IF the rugby guys started the fight and it was retaliated at there and then and left... maybe it would be a simple(ish) thing to resolve.. but this is just getting out of hand now...

Cops need to roll in with rubber bullets basically....

Or it died down because they got what they wanted. You know, just a thought.

Whole week worker have been asking for and end to outsourcing ,it has been peaceful but some time during the week students joined in to "help" them and its been violent ever since

Self entitled, lazy, Barbarians. Looking at those pictures I am seeing a lot of "People" that are useless to humanity. They believe in the break down to build up theory that is going around.

Lets burn a train because it was late this morning. Lets burn our universities because we want to learn for free.

The people with this mentality do not deserve an education.

Will definitely do but damn. That first song sounded nothing like "kill the Boer". The Solomon song wasn't sang in full so even then the insinuation of killing Afrikaners is not sung. And damn... "They trough us"
