University Protests 2016

trying my best to stay out of these threads entirely, but here is one point that is simply not true.

Labour laws and BEE scores force many institutions to outsource.

They have a choice whether to outsource or not. Just because the labour laws are inconvenient doesn't mean anyone is putting a gun to their HR department head and saying "outsource or else".

What does outsourcing have to do with the average student and or the rugby? Nothing.
They went looking for a fist fight and they knew it.

You have a similar logic to the protestors, perhaps the next time they interrupt a rugby match you should go along and explain why they shouldn't beat the snot out of you lot?

When are people going to realise most of these so called protesters are products of the no fault, no failure, push through school system.

I have no gripe with outsourcing so...

They didn't go there for a fist fight though.

IMO thats exactly what they wanted. What else were they expecting? Applause? Prayer meeting? What? I'd also wager first physical punch/kick was by one of them, probably when someone turn their back to walk away. (edit: actually, beat a gate at the gate as below;))

Regardless, should never have happened.

What do you think will happen if a bunch of "elites" go onto the field whilst a soccer match is playing, singing the old anthem and protesting for an end to BEE?

Be honest, what the **** do you think will happen princess?

What are the "elites" supposed to do? Just give up and say **** this you won? How long until the next violent protest start because they dont like white toilet paper?

Sitting back and doing nothing causes a whole lot of ****, just look at how the taxies are operating on the roads.

Shareholders and management hold that gun to HR's head. You are forced to comply with BEE, but cannot afford the risk of strikes or to take on permanent staff that you cannot easily let go if business takes a turn for the worse. Your only option is to outsource or put your business at risk knowingly.

I'd actually love to see some stats on the prevalence and growth of strikes over time compared to the growth in outsourcing, would not be surprised one bit if there is a strong correlation.

Strike for higher wages? We outsource. Now you strike against outsourcing because you lost income due to your striking actions of the past? cry me a river

Its like they literally dont have a brain.

And also, what do the students have to do with outsourcing of workers? You are there to study you tampon!

Is outsourcing as much a sensitive issue to Afrikaans folks as the old anthem?

If they came into the field protesting about BEE, they'd get a "Manje?" response and would let security remove them from the field.

Did you just call me princess?

Sit and wait for security to remove them?
What do taxi's have to do with anything.

And don't worry. You wipe your ass with white toilet paper so its chilled

I also don't see it as a major problem. Doesn't mean I consider what people who do see a problem have to say as unimportant.

Exactly... if there are problems, then it should come to the foreground, but I've never seen an argument to justify 'ending outsourcing'.

Yes I am suuuuure that is what would happen.

They would first hug and cuddle them. ?Tell them that they are welcome to stay. Give them some water and sing a song of peace and love while they are escorted off the field.

Because only white people are violent.
We see it in the news daily.

He is being a hypocrite.

If you think your average black person cares about BEE you're very mistaken.
You know exactly what we mean, you are just scared to answer truthfully but I did not expext anythinhmg else from your kind
