So it seems no-one from Telkom can help me with this issue as whenever I call through to 10210 I get told they can see nothing wrong with my line. They then call out a tech who calls me and tells me there is nothing wrong with the exchange or line. Tech then comes to house and says there is nothing wrong with the router or cabling at home.

Have tried using neighbours router which doesn't work either however my router works on their line.

Now it seems we are stuck? Hoping anyone on myBB can shed some light onto this:

The ADSL syncs perfectly:
ADSL Stats.png - Cant see any issues with the stats.

Here are pictures of the Config used:
Connection Type.png - Connection Type (PPPoe and LLC/Snap Bridging)
ATM PVC.jpg - ATM PVC 8/35

Then when looking at the connection status it shows the following:
WAN Info.jpg - PPP Down

This has to point to an issue at the exchange as there is nothing wrong on my side. It doesn't get an authetication error so using the correct login details as well. Using guest@telkomadsl / guest to test now.
Then enabled debugging of the PPP connection and got the following log:

PPP log.jpg - I think the issue above has to be the, Couldn't get channel number: Transport endpoint not connected.

Anyone have any ideas? Thoughts? Anything!
Router is Dlink DSL-2500U. Sorry for the long post and multiple images.

Your upstream attainable rate is 0 and power output -1.1dbm, that looks rather weird.

Have you tried a different modem?

That is properly weird. I have tried my neighbour's telkom branded netgear and also wouldnt make a ppp connection.
ADSL Stats 2.png - Checked stats again and it looks normal now.

Assuming that the telkom tech did not really test properly.....

Is there a pots filter connected to the line? If so, remove and and only have direct connection to wall socket with no other devies like fax or phone connected on the line. test again.

On the modem, does the DSL light stay constant indicating that the ADSL connection is at least up.

If that does, then I would reccomend maybe getting a test account from another ISP and if that connects then it is an issue on the ISP side.

The modem was connected directly into the wall socket with no telephone line attached at all.

Yes the DSL light stays on constantly. I have tried an Afrihost, Webafrica and Telkom account, all don't work. It doesn't give an authentication error though.

The upstream stats don't look to good bro.

Attenuation of 5.5dB is fantastic, however the SNR is 6.1dB (borderline stable). Your SNR should really be 14dB+
I'm also guessing, because the attainable rate is 0 and the output power is odd, that there's a lot of snr fluctuation on upstream.

Lots of noise on the line, or possibly a bad connection somewhere.

Have you checked all the cabling inside your house ?
Can you hear any noise on the phone ?

+1.
Has to be something physical.
had similar issue before at one of our depots. The lady rode her office chair over the telkom extention cable between modem and wall socket everytime she stood up. Damaged the cable.

No noise on the line at all that is audible. I did another look at the stats which I replied to above and showed upstream of 12DB.
Cabling is fine all the way into the wall. Telkom also checked this and found nothing wrong.

Anything change at your house/premises when this started. Like electric fences going up or new appliances close by.

It should not be fluctuating that much.

This is odd, are you sure you gave it enough time to sync? Some routers can take a bit longer.
