ADSL Stats Netgear.png - Stats from telkom netgear router.

From this router when you check connection status you can say connect but it just does absolutely nothing.

I think your router is buggerd, the reason why i asked of you used your details in his router is because some ISP's lock their account to one number so it cant get hijacked.

It can't be the router. My router works on his adsl line. His router also works on his adsl line. His router does not work on my adsl line. The guy from telkom's router also did not work when he tested it, but they say there are no issues with the exchange.

WTF :wtf:

"Hi I am from telkom. Let me test your line. Yes there is something wrong. Can only be telkom infrastructure, but hey the exchange is fine. Have a nice day."

That was basically what happened last week monday.

Your only option as I see it is

1. Get another fault ref.
2. escalate fault on website immediately
3. Next day escalate again.

Rinse & repeat.

The upstream section is a certain frequency 25KHz - 276KHz, and for that frequency there seems to be a lot of noise, maybe the exchange that has a faulty point that was damaged by lightning, or there is a hum due to a power cable interfering

Tried with all the plugs, geyser, everything except one set of plugs and same stats. Got another telkom techie coming tomorrow again. Hope this one can do something.

On Wednesday Telkom Tech Ashley Uys [snip] from Lady's Mile Exchange came to my flat to fix a slow line fault on my ADSL line number [snip], he found there was a sync and authentication fault on the line, after numerous port resets, he ordered a new port which was sent and activated on the line. However on testing with 2 of my modems - a duoplus 300 and an Asus N55U and his own Telkom DLink modem, the line was syncing ADSL but REFUSED to authenticate.

At 2pm, he packed his things and told me his boss named Michael Chivell on [snip] asked him to abandon the work that it will be fixed at the office. He left my apartment with no internet connection since Tuesday 2pm. I have no Internet since then. I have made several calls to 10210, logged several faults to have another tech sent out to complete the work but no one has been sent up till now.

I need this problem to be fixed as soon as possible bc I depend on this line for my work.

The current fault ref number is: 51BWK200216.

I also need to be refunded for all the days my line has been down without access.

It is only fair that I am not charged for service I did not use.

If anyone in this forum has any idea who these people that have screwed up my are, please help me hold them responsible. It is not good how these Telkom people operate because they assume anonymity therefore they can do as they please and get away with.

Any other suggestion, I am all ears.

Thanks.
