Upcoming Games

Never played these, is it puzzle solving games?
Nope purely interactive stories. Not for everyone and the most gameplay and action in Telltale games are usually just quicktime events. There are some puzzles and stuff though like in any adventure game.

I love them and Wolf Among Us is one of the better ones. Tales From the Borderlands is the best.

None of these really appeal to me, but might be some here that might like some of these upcoming franchise based games?

I'm always sceptical of licenced games, since they tend to play it safe. I do have fond memories of Dune 2, and would also really like a good robocop game though...

Awesome, so this wasn't a joke:

Whoa, Remedy is remaking Max Payne 1 and 2

The "bullet time" shooters are some of the best PC games of the early 2000s.
Here's some news that genuinely caught us off guard today: Remedy is remaking third-person shooter masterpieces Max Payne and Max Payne 2: The Fall of Max Payne.

The remade Paynes will be distributed as one package, and aren't likely to be released anytime soon. Remedy says that the project is in "the concept development stage."

For now, the news is just that Remedy was able to get the go-ahead on the project, which wasn't a given. Remedy created both of the original Max Payne games, but Rockstar published them, and still controls the Max Payne copyright. (Rockstar developed Max Payne 3 itself.)

Nice but why not Max Payne 4?

Splinter Cell remake: nice but why not Splinter Cell 7?

Prince of Persia remake: nice but why not a new POP?

Its the Hollywood effect.

Instead of spending a couple of million on something new you rather bank on what use to sell and break even.

I would usually agree with you. But Max Payne is such an excellent series of games, I'm totally happy they're remaking them.

I'm pretty happy too but I just want new games and a continuation of a series I love. I also usually prefer the original games because I just love playing old games and in most cases I feel like remakes are not really necessary.

That plus remakes are more often than not worse than the originals. Or at least the ones I've played.

Like the Mafia remake. It was good but didn't have the immersion, atmosphere and finer details of the first game that made the original game so amazing and I didn't like the changes in the story and characters. If I ever feel the need to play Mafia again I'll definitely go to the original. I appreciate and prefer the improved combat and visuals in the remake though but that's about it.

Meow!
Stray has a release date: 19th July this year.
Launches for PC, PlayStation 4 and PS5.
Will also release on the PlayStation Plus extra and premium tiers.

Looks awesome

I still haven't even played Max Payne 3. Think I'm gonna try to play MP1 and 2 and then give MP3 a shot.

Had to download a bunch of patches and stuff to get the old Tomb Raider games to run on my pc so don't think I'll have issues getting Max Payne to work as well.

MP1 runs fine as is, but there are glitches.
Sound for example. You need to download some files to get the sound to work properly.

The bullet time effect is the most broken. When Max goes into his slow mo jump he is supposed to jump into the air. On modern machines it looks like he slides on the ground and you can't aim properly.

Will check it out later. I'm usually pretty good at getting old games to run properly. Haven't played MP1 or 2 since my Windows XP days.

Had a quick google and looks like the FixItAll mod fixes most things so will give that a try first.
