As soon as they started going 1000% and buying up all those established devs to get their dirty hands on the IP, it was always going to end in failure

Video Games are extremely high risk endeavors. Even more than movies. You cant just throw a few billion and expect instant results. AAA these days have a 3 - 5 year dev time, with no guarantee of success

The Embracer board thought they could buy up all these studios and then sell to the Saudis for a massive payout for the board, but it blew up in their face and now 100s of people are losing their jobs for no reason.

That's good to hear. HZD initially had some issues but they sorted them out quickly.
