Well I’m sorry, but responsibility and 16 does not go together generally, I do not know anyone here or their children so I can only generalize. A 16 year old child cannot be responsible for entering into a binding legal agreement for a reason, show me one contract more biding than having a child…at any age.

No, I wouldn't encourage it but I'd make darn sure that she was informed enough to be able to make a responsible decision about it and to know that to be liked she wouldn't have to sleep with the guy.

It is possible to have responsible sex and NOT fall pregnant. Anyway, it doesn't mean that the 16 yr old dating the older guy necessarily means she's sleeping with him.

I think in a country like SA where HIV and Hepatitis B are so prevalent,
any sex talk not metioning these problems is seriously lacking.

LOL, yes, probably unlikely. But speaking from (my own) experience I think teens engage in oral sex more often than actual penetrative sex. Hopefully they're well informed about STDs and contraception. At the end of the day when your teenaged daughter leaves your home with her friends/date you only have your trust in her. There's not much else you can do.
