im assuming the same way you changed it .. using the NSS software ... only concern i would have is if the product code is changed to the orginal will the phone still work ... considering that you now have say the euro latest firmware .. is there really a problem leaving the phone on the euro1 product code?

I have posted a complaint on hellopeter.com regarding Vodacom/Vodaphone and the out of date firmware. It may not be worth much but the more complaints about it the more attention it will receive, please do your bit as well

If you reflash using one product code and then change the product code to something else, the phone will work just fine. What appears to be a potential problem is when you restore to a product code which is different to what the backup was created from. Again I can't believe this would cause a problem, but there are quite a few bricks to support this.
I have left my product code as euro1 and never had any issues.

Technically if V12 for SA comes out, we can change our codes back, and do a reflash, and they shouldn't even notice we changed the codes in the first place. Im perfectly happy with EURO1 and V12 for EURO1-Plum, so not gonna complain, just like to know future options in case MTN decides to go napalm on my ass.

Yes, totally. The phone is super fast. All the menus and programs are much faster. GPS works instantly. I get GPS lock within a few seconds.
The flashing blue light next to the capture button when the phone goes in stanby mode is actually nice.
This is an old concern. Sure its a Nokia and it can break, however the chances of them totally rejecting a warrantee claim for something related to a fault other than firmware is small enough to take the chance and go with the latest firmware that comes out. V12 is the second firmware release since I got my N95, I would be a very unhappy puppy if I was left behind the latest firmware releases especially if I had to endure VLive with that rabid mongoose in my face every day.

It depends. Mine took less than 30 minutes for dowloading the file and updating.

Not yet. But I don't think it would be too much.
wow...my first one was 105mb and took 4hrs. Network must have been busy,
My download was 118MB - strange how it varies.
So far no improvements in the WiFi issue - still doesn't get the DHCP settings from my home router, but since last posting about this issue, I have found that it works on auto settings on most public hotspots. Anyway, still not a 100% implementation.
Also, I can't say that I have noticed any improvement in GPS lock times, even though I can see that AGPS is working. Someone asked how much data is sent, I have seen a increase of between 6-10kB on the counters.

AFAIK you cannot cahnge the product code a 2nd time...i remember reading that somewhere...maybe wrong though
as for warranty, the chances are 9/10 they wont even notice the changed product code...how do u see the product code on screen? is there a code like the *#0000# type?

@Vlad_M: What DHCP WiFi issues are you having? I originally had my router setup with a hidden WiFi network name and WEP control, as soon as I made the network visible it worked. I'm not nuts about the idea, but I'm using MAC based access control so it's not too bad a compromise.
