Vasectomy concerns

We are about to pop our third child (twins first time so 2 pregnancies) and we both agree that 3 is enough. We feel super lucky to have the twin boys who are now 4 and a daughter due in 4 weeks.

We also both agree that some form of permanent solution is required to prevent more pregnancies. Where we disagree is who should be the one to have to do it. I know that technically it is vastly more simple, less invasive, less chance of side effects and complication- basically a no brainer that I should have a vasectomy.

The problem is that even reading this thread is making me feel woozy and I just don't know if I can bring myself to do it.

For us it was all about the risks and complications.

For a guy should there be complications it is mild compared to what the lady must experience for a succession op.

And I am talking from experience. The discomfort I experience is nothing more slight pain for a few seconds in my right nut on a bad day. Most days I'm not even aware of it.

One child was enough for me mmthanks..

As it is I already have to watch my car and lock keys in the safe

I went to milpark also based on recommendation in one of these threads. Set me back +/- R1500 to R3000 so it wasn't bad. Everyday I am so glad I done it. As soon as our little one turned 1. We have 2 healthy youngsters and that's more than enough responsibility.

I was just inquiring.
Ok. Mine was too long ago too remember the costs. What I do remember is that I had to rest for about 10 days and you cannot allow for your nutsack to hang as per normal.
No patla patla for that time. When you've recovered and you do wanna make whoopy you need to empty your reserves first. So make a quick two or three visits by mrs. Palm and the daughters to get sorted.

Last thing I just wanna know, is it hard for for a younger guy to get it done like someone in their early twenties? Will you get flat out refused?

Wow... Never experienced any of that. Had to lay off nooky for a few days but that was it. Life carried on.

Had a really good doc though.

No, they cannot refuse you. What they will try to do (the doctor) is to have a consultation with you in order to make sure you're not going to make a mistake and regret later. Allthough the procedure is reversible not many guys reverse once done.

You can get semen cryo-stored privately, but that will set you back about 7k every 5 years.

Funny I was discussing this with my doc today, he said its not so simple. I did not go into too much details but basically I do not want to have a kid and do not want some chick to fall pregnant.
There are unfortunately not many options to my knowledge

Thank goodness you won't be having any offspring.
The world will be a better place without your gene pool.

What were the costs like?

Urologist (excluding consultations) about 2k, anesthesiologist + hospital charges about another 3k. was a few years back so add 20-25%. (this was at Morningside clinic through Marie Stopes or something similar will be way cheaper.)

Never having to care again when she's late... priceless
