Not in jhb and you are not arrested. PS they also need to prove that the device is on before issuing ticket.
 
Hows about you save yourself the cash for fines and a jammer and just drive the legal limit hows that idea.
 
You'll never maintain the speed limit. You'll always drive 10-20km/s over, and I think they should be a little more lenient. I mean honestly i've had so many speed fines of annoying R100 fines for driving 124 or 127 on the highway! C'mon!!!!

Wish we had something similar to the Autobahn here in JHB.....

The Autobahn? Damn no. Imagine the taxis then.... and the little boys with their Velocity's and other small cars trying to match our speed are bad enough. No thank you....

I often drive anything up to 130 on the highway. Not that I try to. Or the wind pushes you a little. I've done 130 on an almost flat road with my foot off the pedal just because I had a tailwind.
 
I have never gotten a fine for driving 127 or 130 I was under the impression they only give u a fine if u go over 130 so 131 they fine u R100?? I normally put my cruise control on 129 on the open road??
 
I've got a speeding fine in front of me now for R200, doing 134 on the highway. My fines of R100, are anything between 120-130. So stupid....

Imagine how much $$$ they pull in just by sitting on their fat arses trapping everyone R200. And no one dare tell me that 130 is considered 'speeding'.
 
yeah, those 1-2-3-4 hundred bucks speeding fines are so stupid,my mom phoned me yesterday about another 300 rand one on the N2 near mosselbaai... ugh.. oh well...
 
No freaken way 130 isnt speeding what happened to the 10km/h break they suppose to give u?

I agree. I went through a laser speedtrap about three months back at 129/130. Still waiting for the ticket ;)
 
Froot i dont think ul get a ticket honestly i cant see how they can trap u at 120 to 130 they have to give u some range of error most cars dont run 100% to what your speedo reads so they have to give u some sort of a km/h gap

Exactly my point. Someone here mentioned being caught several times at 124-127.... the lowest speed at which you may be caught is 11kph over the speed limit (60/70/80/100/120)+11
 
yeah thats how i have always seen it. 11km/h over u get a R100 or R200 fine depending on the area. I need to know if the 10km/h gap is cool because i cant afford to get a ticket again ill get my ass thrown in jail and i ain't going back to that hell hole again.

rubbish i have never seen a fine for 66 in a 60 zone

88 in a 80 zone

107 in a 100 zone

126 in a 120 zone

i average about 3.5k fines a month last year not once i did see once within 10kms of the speed limit

I have just received one for 69 in a 60 zone... from Plett... not a change I'm paying it.
