how does one play this on a mac ?

tried vlc
tried mpeg streamclip (to convert)
tried handbrake (to convert)
tried quicktime

none work
any suggestions to convert to mp4 ?

yea, many have a propriety player that loads when you do a backup - the player for this is called "superplay"
